@McFaul Other countries should not support the US in committing war crimes. There's no obligation on other NATO countries to help the US commit evil acts for no good reason, and they would be wrong to do so.

Even if you did not support Trumps decision to launch of war of choice against Iran (like me), restricting the use of US airbases in NATO countries imprudently damages NATO unity. Yes, Trumps threats to invade/annex NATO countries does too. But 2 wrongs don’t make a right.

@HSBC_UK I’ve just reported my Premier debit card as stolen, but in fact it was in an HSBC ATM in the HSBC Mexico branch at Plaza de los Fundadores, San Luis Potosí when all the ATMs there stopped working. They won’t open the ATM to retrieve it, and were no help at all.

I continue to hope the administration’s rhetoric on Greenland is nothing more than posturing for a new era of cooperation, because any effort to claim or take the territory by force would degrade both our national security and our international relationships. We have a long history of close cooperation with Greenland, dating back to World War II and continuing today with the Pituffik Space Base, and have always been able to achieve our mutual goals through strong diplomacy with its people. As Greenland charts its future, we must see it as an ally, not an asset, and focus on continued partnership rather than possession.

@British_Airways In the First lounge at Heathrow just now. Not just an uncleared table, but one with papers from last Saturday and from Wednesday. Not very impressive …

@British_Airways The Plaza Premium lounge you use in Montreal is pretty awful: dirty tables, power sockets don’t work, queues for toilets, over full. Cost cutting being in BA’s DNA, no doubt it saves you £1/head over a better lounge. #BAfails because you can’t be bothered.
