Uber’s new tier system makes independent drivers feel anything but independent. You can decline rides but doing so can cost you better trips and higher earnings. This is not real flexibility. It is pressure dressed up as rewards that pushes drivers to follow Uber’s rules instead

@LifeOfBuddah @iamdogluke @StoutPat Yup. I’ve been in two accidents out there. Would not want to mess with off book rides in that environment. Money has always been good enough that in the end I really wouldn’t make that much extra.

@TheRealJosh05 @LifeOfBuddah @sergioaved You’d be wrong. I’m just on another level of understanding than most of you when it comes to this industry. Once people stop making it us vs them, the industry gets so much easier. They may be corrupt in some ways but drivers still getting a steal of a deal at 30% after fees.

@uber @sachinkansal I thought this so called "bug" was getting fixed? Even if the Rider cancelled and reordered this trip, why is there so much of a haircut? Pick-up drop-off are the same! I have 100s of these screenshots, algorithm is broken!

@LifeOfBuddah @iamdogluke @StoutPat And I’m a gold driver with a AR between 1-12%. Likely to stay that way through the first month or two of new rewards. April is festival season and it’s impossible to keep a 25% while maintaining your sanity in the desert! 🐪

@LifeOfBuddah @iamdogluke @StoutPat The only time you’ll actually be able to tell the difference is if you accept non surge minimum fare trip. Intercity/Reservations don’t count for the 5% bump.

AND a $27 tip from Feb just came in! That follows up a $100 cash tip for a returned item on Wed and an $80 cash tip yesterday because I’m willing to make stops and help people.

Fat Fuck Todd broke lots of rules tonight. TWO cans of Coca Cola and a large Pizza Hut pizza were crushed here at the crib… Celebrating a $1600+ week and being done with a 7 day dog sitting gig. Playing private country club golf, so gotta finish the week strong tomorrow!

@sergioaved There are 12 minutes between these pings. Totally plausible the price changed on a reorder. Almost 100% chance of it actually. Please let the professionals do their job.

@LifeOfBuddah Dara is not my enemy. I want Dara & Uber to be successful. If they aren’t, I’d have to find my own clients, pay for my own insurance, take on the liability in an accident & make less than I am now. Why you guys want the people who do the difficult work to fail is beyond me…

I would pay good $$ to be able to change the sound of the @Lyft app when it sends a ride request. It’s the most annoying sound in rideshare.

@FRMillionaires I wouldn’t waste your time with SMTMC. Nobody there ever defends their positions except Harry. If we are being honest @sergioaved is an extremely part time driver that really only had success in the industry when the money was being handed out like free samples at Costco.

I'm pretty harmless when left to my own devices. I've been ignoring the passive aggressive call outs other content creators have been aiming at me, especially on Show Me The Money. (Not the only one). I'm going to p̶a̶s̶s̶i̶v̶e̶l̶y̶ aggressively start pushing back ✅

@boston_drives @Hession9 So it’s not the same ride or the same passenger. May not even be in the same part of the state. The program doesn’t same you’ll get 5% on “similar” rides. You would’ve been offered .24 less than the 5.03 and he would’ve gotten .33 more on the $6.62. You’ve exposed nothing.

impressive that they were able to use other sources of revenue to offset the costs enough to only increase prices by 9% and still increase driver pay beyond national average inflation numbers. We should be celebrating this report. Even if the data is incredibly cherry picked!

The 4.1 hourly pay increase outpaced both inflation 2.7% and wage inflation of 3.3-3.8% So drivers saw their money go farther and their wages than the average Joe. This all happened while Uber navigated the CI insurance game & government adding fees & taxes. It’s kind of…

Was disappointed to see you and so many others jump to conclusions on the 9% vs 3% increase. The price increase to passengers includes the booking fee. Part of the booking fee is quite variable. Several big cities raised taxes and fees and CI requirements continue to rise…🧵

After thinking about it, the difference between an Uber report and a Gridwise report… I think the biggest difference is incentives. Gridwise has no incentive to be pro or against Uber whereas Uber is heavily incentivized to skew their data. Also, Gridwise is an analysis of all gig work, not just one platform. I’d love to hear your thoughts on my video.

@LifeOfBuddah I disagree. Your definition of worse rides differs from mine, which differs from Uber. It’s fair that the entity who owns the platform gets to reward the people who use the platform as they see fit. It’s not a public service. It’s a publicly traded company trying to make $.

@MinivanManTodd Taking worse trips just to hit a 25% AR defeats the whole point of being independent. You’re trading profitability for access that’s not flexibility lmao
