Sam Houston’s Elliott T. Bowers stadium recently underwent a massive $60 million renovation. This included new video boards, a new press box, new luxury suites and a club area in the press box. The Bearkats will play here again in 2026 after playing elsewhere in 2025.

My head gasket is gone. Destroyed. I had no injury / injuries going into the fight. I was throwing kicks, planted and jumping, all throughout camp as well as backstage before the fight. This came out of nowhere. I am beyond dark here. I can only describe it as hell.

Which local team do I support in Northwest CT please tell me. Literally every community in these countries have a local team that is a part of the bigger soccer landscape that connects all the way up. Want me to drive 3 hrs to Boston or 3-4 hrs to NJ/NY? Not everyone lives in a city or anywhere close. How does supporting your local semi pro team help the national team? I think people should do it anyway but this logic just sucks without an open system unless you live close to a team.

@themanmulcahey_ @onceuponaweeny Do an equal mixture of both (especially if your soil is not sandy). You can add compost (I wouldn’t go above 1/4 of it for compost). Two yards of topsoil, two yards of sand, yard of compost will do about 3k square feet of lawn.

Aster + Pine Market closing at the end of July. Opened in February 2024 they were not able to consistently maintain strong enough margins to continue so they sadly closing. Another tough loss for downtown Amherst, it’s the 3rd downtown business to close in the last few weeks.

@FightMA01003 The sound system has been replaced for sure. I saw the new system at graduation. They actually have speakers around the top of the entire stadium instead of two/four PA speakers from 1965 under or around the scoreboard.

OK, two things with this video featuring Bamford
One, if this is true (which as we know with UMass, grain of salt) then it is a good thing for a much needed improvement to the game day experience at The Junkyard. The sound system was atrocious and needed to be fixed a long time ago. If UMass follows through they deserve kudos for that
Two, despite the above, listening to this charlatan talk is among the worst experiences in not only college athletics but just life in general at this point. The corporate doublespeak and jargon, the subtle sanctimony, the not-so-subtle hints at how much money this costs while barely mentioning the ACTUAL problems like competitiveness, it's just disgraceful
This guy made $1M last year off the Commonwealth's dime to remain the worst athletic director at the D1 level in the nation and he talks at people like we can't see what a phony he is
No one believes anything Bamford says anymore. For that alone he shouldn't still have his job but every day there remains zero accountability at UMass, more and more fans will stop spending money for no return on investment
