@itsMrrrM Some are routine class overtakes, but then sometimes you the fast class in a battle for position while dodging slow traffic, and that is the good shit

And I think it’s more fun to watch because of the illusion of overtaking, but in fact they’re just overtaking a different and much slower class of cars most of the time

I think Max Verstappen did irreversible damage to Formula 1 by introducing people to endurance racing and Nürburgring. I’ve been glued to the TV for 3 hours so far, while in F1 I usually stop watching after 10 laps and end up scrolling through TikTok

@jmrphy Really love this movie, the aesthetic and soundtrack are fantastic. I took it as a story how love can crop up in the most unexpected, inappropriate places. And the nice, normal guy was able to resist temptation, except with the hotel singer, the dick!

I watched Lost in Translation the other night and couldn’t believe it. I saw it one time before, when I was around 20. Back then it was about a degenerate adulterous creep having an emotional affair with a younger women in a foreign city. At 39, it was about a nice, normal man’s impressive self-control in the face of temptation and a transcendence of sexual desire in favor of friendship.

ppl always focus on how things that used to be joyful and magical as children lose their luster as adults... but not so much how many new things become genuinely interesting/joyful . like i can viscerally excited about a new couch or a dark chocolate in a way kids literally can't

@TippingOddsLV @jmrphy Me too, I liked the restraint they put on that. It would have been so easy to have them fool around, and then Giovanni Ribisi walks in and catches them

@DisaffectedPod He looks like he knocked out a real director while playing Hitman and put on their outfit as a disguise

Sigh. -No, he doesn't look "unrecognizable." He is obviously, immediately, identifiable as John Travolta -Him wearing a hat and beard that's unusual does not make him "unrecognizable" -No, he doesn't look "awful and fake," either, as some have said. The objective visual reality is that he's 72, and he looks much younger. This is the result of genuinely skilled plastic surgery--he truly does not look like he went under the knife. This is really, really good work. You don't have to like a celebrity or approve of their antics to stay youthful, but that doesn't mean that they look "unrecognizable" or "awful." I'm neither a fan nor an anti-fan of Travolta. No stake in this. But reality is real, and we can all see it. This is the kind of plastic surgery that you want, if you're going to have it. -J

John Travolta, 72, looks unrecognizable at Cannes The 72-year-old showed up in a cream beret, round glasses, sharp beard & black suit for his directorial debut premiere

@ArchRose90 You know this guy's gonna do a Tony Blair on his way out the door. Sign away something important that the public was always gonna hate, but it doesn't matter because he's leaving anyway.

Keir Starmer, 6th May 2022: “This is a big turning point for us. We’ve sent a message to the PM. Britain deserves better.” So when the Tories lost 485 council seats and 11 councils, Boris should resign. When Labour lose 1,493 council seats and 38 councils, Starmer won’t. 🥴

@PotatoMcWhiskey I don't think holding on to current players is a viable strategy, the player count is nowhere near acceptable. They have to try something to get people back in.

@JJunkWarrior I got a Pro 2 after my DualSense 5 died after a month. I'm 18 months in now and love it. The D-pad is better than Playstation controllers (you can feel the diagonals more, and I prefer the plus sign to the 'four direction buttons' design). Works fully on PC and was £40

@archaicf0ssil the interests of the establishment so you need to choose your oppressor carefully. Your drama could be resisting a patriarchal government, that's fine. But your heroes couldn't be resisting Israel because the backlash would be incredible. Those guys are terrorists!

@archaicf0ssil I think DS9 did a good job of distancing itself from the real world, while bringing up political concepts that do parallel real life. So I don't think Kira would have had to change. If your setting is the real world, the judgement call on freedom fighter vs terrorist depends on
