Female. Interested in all thing indian including islam, architecture and civilisation. a global desi.

I think it’s in rank bad taste to objectify a woman’s appearance. Men as they become older are never subjected to this.

Hit the post with something rare about Rahul Gandhi.

Aga Khan III led the historic Simla Deputation to advocate for the political rights and representation of Muslims. In the same year, when the All-India Muslim League was established in Dhaka, Aga Khan III became its first permanent president, guiding its evolution into the principal political platform representing Muslims across the subcontinent. Aga Khan III bought the strategic port city of Gwadar and gifted it to Pakistan. app.com.pk/national/gener…

Expected better sense from you @_sayema . But guess you have become quite selective with your voice. FYI Every metro station has a toilet which is usually 2-3 min away from the lift. Stop defending unhygienic and uncivilised habits esp where a man took his dick out in public in front of women. That’s harassment.

Someone commented that changing T-shirts in public is “against Indian culture.” Interesting observation. A person who cheats, lies, exploits loopholes and makes money through illegitimate means is often socially acceptable - as long as they don’t get caught. But a good-hearted person changing his shirt in public becomes the moral crisis? Strange priorities.

The rest isn't a sermon, it's reality. Indian Muslims can fully homogenize into India's shared culture, language & national ethos while keeping Islamic faith as a strictly personal choice. If they can't (or won't), they'll keep enabling their own othering. Modernity demands integration, not parallel societies. Secular India isn't optional.

It’s not an aarti ritual. They’re bringing in the mehndi that is brought in with diyas. Maayoon, mehndi, dholak, ghori charhna, ubtan/haldi/mehndi lagaana, vail dena, and a lot else are all part of our syncretic culture. 60% of Pakistan is Punjabi. These are Punjabi traditions. There’s zero ‘identity crisis’ around them for most people.

East London Central Synagogue in Tower Hamlets was founded in 1923 in London’s East End, then the heart of UK Jewish life with hundreds of thousands of Jews. It is no longer used. Recent figures show that the area is now approximately 55% Muslim, 22% Christian and well under 1% Jewish. Today it was set on fire. Britain has an extremist antisemitism problem.
