Someone commented that changing T-shirts in public is “against Indian culture.” Interesting observation. A person who cheats, lies, exploits loopholes and makes money through illegitimate means is often socially acceptable - as long as they don’t get caught. But a good-hearted person changing his shirt in public becomes the moral crisis? Strange priorities.

The rest isn't a sermon, it's reality. Indian Muslims can fully homogenize into India's shared culture, language & national ethos while keeping Islamic faith as a strictly personal choice. If they can't (or won't), they'll keep enabling their own othering. Modernity demands integration, not parallel societies. Secular India isn't optional.

Maayoon, mehndi, dholak, ghori charhna, ubtan/haldi/mehndi lagaana, vail dena, and a lot else are all part of our syncretic culture. 60% of Pakistan is Punjabi. These are Punjabi traditions. There’s zero ‘identity crisis’ around them for most people.
