NEWS: Tesla's FSD v14 Lite is likely heading to a wide release for about 4 million older cars. Ashok Elluswamy, Tesla's VP of AI, reviewed the latest build and said it is "likely going to wide release." That would push the update to the roughly 4 million HW3 cars Tesla has built since 2019. The upgrade uses AI distillation to teach the older HW3 computer how the newer HW4 V14 software drives, the first major FSD jump for those cars since early 2025. Owners get new parking, unparking and reversing, plus smoother handling of merges, forks, traffic lights and pedestrians. It stays a supervised system, but it is the biggest step forward HW3 has seen in over a year. (Source: Ashok Elluswamy on X, July 20 2026)

Tesla FSD V14 Lite (HW3) drives me to my destination with zero interventions for over 2 hours. It handled busy traffic, country roads, pulling over for emergency vehicles, etc. This was the longest drive I've ever done with V14 Lite, and it exceeded my expectations. It is incredible for road trips. Millions of HW3 vehicles are about to come alive.

FSD v14 lite just drove me from LA to San Diego with zero interventions. Parked very nicely at the supercharger too.

@myWinnipesaukee Just a suggestion, get a bottle of spray9, read the back of it. It will kill all the allergy and mildew water the deck down spray the spray 9, scrub it in your railings will look brand new.

FSD v14 Lite for HW3 is still not a wider wave. First recorded HW3 install was Jun 29. If this is still at 1 by Jul 15, is it early access only?

@itskyleconner Love the review on this, keep up the good work, looking for the final results, but exactly for a daily driver rear wheel drive premium. That’s what I’m trying to decide.

Model Y Performance on test Starting to play around with it For daily driving, my initial reaction is…. why? The Premium does everything just about the same Will take it on some good driving roads / track in a bit. That may answer the “why?” 💪
