@NolanAnalyst It has been 3 years now since Interstellar. I dont think we will get a run like between BB and Interstellar.

Christopher Nolan says it will be at least 3 years before his next film releases. “I definitely hit the limits of my own stamina & everybody’s stamina, I think. I mean, it’s ‘The Odyssey’, of course it should be difficult.”

Personally I’d love to see him continue with big action adventure films, I really want him to become the modern David Lean

A genuine question for those defending every casting decision in The Odyssey… If someone adapted Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet and completely reimagined the nationality, appearance, or traditional portrayal of several iconic characters… Would you still say: “The best actor should always get the role.” Or would you suddenly start talking about staying faithful to Shakespeare? That’s why this debate fascinates me. Should we judge every classic by the same standard… Or do we only defend creative freedom when it’s our favorite director

@MovieAce90 @Eleven__11XI The phrase “modern adaptation” is meaningless the way you are using it. EVERY movie is a modern adaptation because it is made today.

@srbryson @Eleven__11XI If you are adapting a old story today it is a modern adaptation regardless of who is playing the characters. In that film they speak old english.

@Eleven__11XI Always creative freedom. Its called an adaptation. There is plenty of modern Shakespeare adaptations.

@srbryson @Eleven__11XI It is a modern adaptation though. But there will not be a 250 million version of this with Greek actors. You live in a delusional world. If we want it on the big screen this is it.

@MovieAce90 @Eleven__11XI But this isn’t a “modern adaption”. It is set in Ancient Greece with Helen being not Greek, and shoving a character from Roman mythology to cast a 5’ tall 100lb person as a mighty Greek warrior.

At least unlike Interstellar, critics recognized right away that The Odyssey is a masterpiece. I still can’t believe Interstellar debuted at around 70% on Rotten Tomatoes.

This seems kinda crazy to me. Whatever you think about the rest of the stuff surrounding the movie. The dude filmed it in a format 24 theatres in the US are capable of showing? and 8 of them are in California. Barely ANYBODY is gonna see it the way he wants it seen.

@Eleven__11XI If you mean they cast mostly white. That is just Hollywood. There was a black adaptation of a Ibsen play or something. Always interesting to see another point of view on a classical story. It all depends on the execution. Odyssey Iam waiting until i see it

I don’t understand why Memento ranks so low in most Christopher Nolan rankings. To me, it’s easily a top 5 Nolan film. One of Nolan’s most innovative, best-written and visually accomplished films, with a phenomenal performance from Guy Pearce.

@alejandroxpadi The time concepts in Interstellar blows my mind. The time concepts in tenet is cool.

Tenet’s a great movie that’s carried by a highly original and engaging concept while Interstellar excels at elevating material that I don’t find to be as strong. While I do think Interstellar offers an overall more emotional and stronger experience, I find Tenet to be better
