We are now at a hijacked building in Dey Street which owes the City approximately R500 000 in rates and taxes. They have tampered with municipal infrastructure after we previously disconnected their electricity. We are disconnecting both their water and electricity.

We spent the morning in Pretoria Industrial removing an illegal cable connection at the informal settlement. It is alleged that the community paid R45,000 for its installation. We are enforcing by-laws without fear or favour; people cannot simply do as they please.

A woman who had been cooking on the pavement for years was shot and killed in Wanderers Street, Hillbrow, JHB, by an unknown male suspect.
The woman incident was a familiar face in the area and part of the daily life on the street.
Police are searching for the suspect and a case of murder
has been opened.

This afternoon, we conducted a bylaw enforcement operation in Pretoria West targeting illegally constructed buildings owned by George Asaba, a Nigerian national.
The properties are non-compliant and were built without approval, with illegal connections to both water and electricity. Officials found that cement had been poured over illegal cabling to prevent its removal, and the city's electrical power box had been removed from outside and placed inside the yard.
Approximately 40 student accommodation rooms were also found to be under construction on the site.
The city will not take these violations lightly and will take decisive action against both the owner and the properties. @CityTshwane

Brooklyn police were told and refused to stop the suspect as he was leaving UP. It's always a syndicate!

Our second stop tonight is at a nightclub owned by a Nigerian national who was formally issued with a notice of closure due to serious non-compliance.
Instead of respecting the lawful instruction of the City, the owner deliberately reopened the establishment and left a young girl to operate the nightclub on his behalf.
This is a clear act of defiance and an attempt to evade accountability. Such conduct will not be tolerated, and it further aggravates the seriousness of the offences committed.

𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐨𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐁𝐮𝐬 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐧 𝐍𝟏 𝐁𝐲𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬, 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐤𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐞. A 65‑seat cross-boader bus was stopped on the N1 bypass adjacent to Peter Mokaba Stadium after officers observed a severe overload. The vehicle was carrying 117 occupants – 1 driver, 101 passengers and 15 minors – 52 passengers beyond its legal capacity. The bus, en route from Gauteng to Malawi, became immobilised a short distance from the Polokwane weigh‑bridge while being redirected to the Provincial Traffic Control Centre (PTCC). During the stop, the driver attempted to flee the scene. He was promptly intercepted, restrained and arrested by officers from the South African Police Service (SAPS) and Limpopo Traffic Officers. The bus will remain at the PTCC until the excess passengers are removed and the prescribed fine is settled. Further investigations are underway.
