@xwanyex Gut feeling is she should have been punished *a little* for accidentally killing her sister. Aren't the dems supposed to say 'intent doesn't matter, just impact'? It seems like there was some impact there. There has to be something between treating it like murder or nothing.

There are many things to dislike about progressivism, even just from a purely aesthetic point of view, and so we spend a lot of time on here ridiculing it on that basis, but it’s important always to remember that the main problem with progressivism is that it’s not true. It’s actually just not true that accidentally running over your sister when you’re seven years old is the equivalent of murdering someone or committing some other violent crime. It’s actually just not true that most people in prison are innocent. It’s actually just not true that most of the people in prison committed their crime unintentionally. When you talk to progressives, what you find is that they hold views about the world that are just simply not true. Maybe the aesthetics would still be bad, even if their claims were true, but their claims are not true.

Gavin Newsom's wife recalls telling prisoners at San Quentin about running over and killing her sister with a golf cart. She said that she wasn't punished because it was an accident but that the prisoners are doing life even though theirs was "probably an accident too."

It’s wild that in my lifetime the trend for so many bisexual men has gone from: pretending to be straight because of peer pressure from homophobic straights → pretending to be gay because of peer pressure from homophobic trans.

@MrHogsmeade @Tachardiella @KDansky @shane58452 But gender norms are different at different times and in different countries. So what makes your gender 'woman' in 2026 in Saudi Arabia will not be the same as in San Diego in 2026, or in Saudi Arabia in 2046. So why would we change bodies to match a changing category?

@Empiricist871 @jk_rowling Also people could not get offended about misgendering, and acknowledge that they were correctly 'sexed'. Honest difference of topic, no worries. It's clear the sex-gender dichotomy was not meant to last, but rather a way to put no-nothings on the same level as biologists. 2/2

@Empiricist871 @jk_rowling Yeah. If they were completely different things, you could a) have the 'genders' use a completely different vocab so there's no confusion whether sex or gender is being discussed. b) Pick and choose when sex or gender is more relevant, with sex being picked frequently. 1/2

🙄The fringe idea that we all have a 'gender identity' that may or may not match our biological sex is the whole point of this discussion. Trans activists act as though the existence of 'gender identity' is a settled, self-evident point, when to the vast majority of the world it's unevidenced, quasi-religious, pseudoscientific nonsense, which has been imposed top down on our society with serious consequences for vulnerable women and troubled youth in particular. Meaningful discussion about competing needs and rights cannot happen inside an elitist ideological bubble where everyone is forced to adopt gender ideology's approved jargon, accept its self-contradicting slogans as fact and pretend fact-light assertions and feeble sophistry are critical thinking. You tell us to 'educate' ourselves, by which you mean, 'adopt our beliefs unquestioningly,' but at this point, most of us know your arguments off by heart. These include, but are not limited to: feelings trump facts and unless we agree we're 'erasing people from existence'; women and girls aren't definable entities, so why should they be entitled to their own sports and single-sex spaces; clownfish and people with DSDs mean sex is 'on a spectrum' and 'woman' is a set of stereotypes associated with the female sex class, so it doesn't matter if you've got a penis, if you identify with those stereotypes you're 'valid'. The reason we haven't been won over by these talking points and remain so tragically 'uneducated' isn't that we've failed to grasp the sophistication of your world view. It's that we think you're talking unadulterated bullshit and making fools of yourselves.

Clavicular on why he refuses to talk politics and tells young men to stop wasting time on it "I influence people and I know that and I know there's a responsibility there. So I'm not going to go around speaking about Iran when I haven't done the proper amount of research. I think about how many years it took me to form a solid opinion on looksmaxxing, and politics I haven't spent nearly the same amount of time." "If you are prioritizing politics, spending six hours a day scrolling on X reading the news, and you don't even have a job, your priorities are completely fucked. You might be a complete expert on Iran and the war but what the fuck is that gonna do for you?"

@Tachardiella @KDansky @shane58452 I've heard...C!s =on the same side, trans= on opposite side. So dick body + masc soul = c!s Dick body + Lady soul = trans I...think? But I've always kinda found it like astrology for your body parts.

@KDansky @shane58452 If gender and sex are different—as we are constantly told—isn't everyone's gender different than their sex by definition? Are we all under the trans umbrella?

Colin's point isn't incorrect, but it is worth observing that many of the Left's ideas rely on something approximating 100% social consensus. It is baked into the ideas, that is, that everyone must agree with them. Transgenderism is an obvious example. It isn't just that (Colin's point) that Trans ideology doesn't survive any robust contact with either philosophy (cf. Alex Byrne) or biology (cf. Colin and his friends), but that TO FUNCTION, Transgenderism requires everyone to play along. That is why it was from the very start aimed at viciously punishing any dissent. It needs near-unanimous consensus to function. My point here is that the Left is ALSO BLAMEWORTHY for adopting such ideas in the context of a free society in which people, it is expected, are allowed to think for themselves and believe what they decide to be true.
Colin Wright@SwipeWright

And yet most prominent right-wing people were still posting on Twitter back then, though severely muzzled since "misgendering" or even posting accurate FBI crime statistics could get one permanently banned. We didn't move to right-wing alternative sites because we didn't want an echo chamber. We wanted the other side to hear our arguments, because we had conviction that facts and reason were on our side. The left abandoned Twitter after Elon bought it because they understand that their ideas disintegrate upon contact with basic facts. They only sound convincing to fellow cult members.

@RealPeterLeo I was thinking this too. Gay stuff used to be *fun*, but over time it has been high-jacked by grumpy blue-haired shrieking activists. I don't want to torment people over their looks, but aesthetically, something like Pride has gotten harder and harder to even look at.

@libpol_org @glukianoff @benryanwriter Sure. If you lay out the rules of what counts as transphobic to you/to the group you trust, I can do my best to explain why trans activism has missed the mark (within those rules).

I would actually be interested in disagreement from people who don't seem to act transphobic, because I'm not seeing much of it. For example, usually about 99 - 100% of the comments on any of these are just right-wing people being as bigoted as possible. At a minimum, the premise is usually that transgender people don't exist.

@DuncanHenry78 An affectionate kiss is fine with me, but this looks like a foreplay face-sucking makeout session. Also, by and large, straight people don’t kiss *like this* in public.

This may be my Britishness speaking but unless you’re in a club or something this kind of behaviour is inappropriate in public whoever is doing it and you will get a side eye. I wouldn’t take a video though. I don’t know who took this video but when I did kiss a bloke like this *in a club* (and not a “gay club”) some people did watch, and some clapped. One even came and told me how brave I was. 🫠 Most of the time it’s people looking at something they don’t see “in the wild” not “homophobia”. But mostly - I don’t think people should do this in public at all really. I don’t want to be involved in your foreplay scene thanks.

god forbid gay people can kiss in public in peace like a straight couple

In my career defending academic freedom and free speech, I never saw anything become as immediately radioactive as views that ran counter to the narrative on trans issues. Papers were retracted, compelled speech was treated as normal, and people were canceled for saying things that would have sounded like common sense just a few years earlier. It seemed to become a kind of secular blasphemy overnight. And usually, that is a sign that the true believers know, at some level, that they are on shaky ground. @hoovlet

The promoters of “gender-affirming care” tried to quash scientific debate on its effects through name-calling and by designating as “settled science” the claim that it improves the mental health of dysphoric kids. It’s now clear why they feared open scientific inquiry.

Lol, that's interesting since he was VERY excited to work with me and claimed to be a big fan when it benefitted him. Now that he's trying to break into TV, suddenly he's filled with "regret". Good luck sucking all that Hollywood dick, buddy. Hope it's worth it.

Matt Dinniman, author of Dungeon Crawler Carl, has choice words for The Critical Drinker: "I regret that my books have any association whatsoever with him. I hope one day to have his part in book three removed all together. It's a distraction, and the only edgelord douchebag I want people to think of when they read my books is the AI itself." Why did he feel the need to do this?
