Lost a bunch of money on Rivian huh just wondering I mean just talking smack like you. The little are wonderful Tesla the only autonomous vehicle in the world. You could tell everybody you own a Polestar it’s OK. They have counseling for that.

I don’t understand this shit. They are certifying entire busses full of people for self driving. Busses. That carry dozens of people. But they are slow rolling driverless/ unsupervised FSD for passenger cars??

For the first time in Norwegian history, a bus will carry passengers in regular traffic without any human behind the wheel. The first pilot without a safety driver was tested Friday, and if all goes as planned, anyone can ride driverless buses starting in May.

I’m watching this dude melt down over HW3 & FSD, and honestly? It’s fascinating. lol
FSD literally just got approved in the Netherlands barely a few weeks ago, and he's got 3,000 owners in Europe in full Rebellion Mode Activated. lol
Meanwhile, American HW3 owners have just been chilling since 2023, watching all our HW4 brothers enjoy V12, V13, and V14.
I am curious! Why such a contrast? Why are we so chill in America?
Is it because we got “99 problems” and FSD is not one of them? lol. We're dealing with healthcare bills, student loans, taxes, and fees!
I guess Americans are gonna do just what Americans do! Mind our own business, show up to the earnings call, and ask the exact same question we’ve asked for 28 consecutive quarters.
I feel your pain HW3 peeps! I have full faith that @Tesla will do the right thing.

@shortword Why wouldn't it be approved? We have no concept of what v14 Lite will do. Models can sometimes quantize quite well when you own the vertical infra like Tesla now does. I haven't seen any evidence yet that Unsupervised is not solvable on HW3 with the right architecture.

Hot $tsla HW3 take…
- retrofitting HW4 cars won’t hit Tesla’s bottom line as they haven’t recognised all the revenue from FSD YET.
- it would be a cash burden, but not billions of dollars. It’ll be done over a number of quarters most likely
- if anyone thinks that Tesla can’t figure out a way out to retrofit these cars, they’ve done this before.
- they engineer these cars from scratch, their boffins can figure it out
- FSD V14 lite won’t be approved in Europe so waiting for that is a fools errand

@shortword Hotter take: if people are rolling around in unFSD in their personal cars, that'll crush the needed adoption in Robotaxi. Thus, Elon does NOT want unFSD in personal cars. Who would use some random car if their car was truly sleep-while-driving unFSD? Very few people.

@prxmtyfx @shortword So what? That would only require a board redesign. GPU vendors do this all the time. The cameras are a bigger problem to upgrade because the existing cable for the wiring would create too much noise with higher MP cameras.

@thomasdaligou @earcos No Tesla claimed the hardware would support full autonomy including level 5 in the future. They later admitted it would not. FSD is just a name and they don’t use that anymore anyway. techcrunch.com/2016/10/19/all…

I just told you! The phone was supposed to be "smart," but it's not. That's the whole point of your argument. Tesla is trying to make the impossible happen. Sorry if that's late. They said the HW3 would support FSD, and it does with the v12.6.4 update. They're still working on the v14 Lite version. If they can't make it happen, they'll upgrade people. No biggie. But when you bought FSD, no date was set for the new option. They told you what the software was capable of at the time and what was to come. I'd rather have a 2020 Model 3 than any other car from that time because, although it was sold as a future-proof product, it still is. 🤷
