It took me 5 months and about 25 interviews to land my first job in Canada 🇨🇦 But there is one I will never forget. I applied for a Canadian government role. French was listed as a requirement. I applied anyway. Got through the first stage. No French was tested. Second and final stage. I joined the call. Bonjour bonjour. (As how?) I thought that was just the greeting. The interviewer then calmly informed me that the entire interview would be conducted in French. I could feel my intestines shift. I said okay. A certified Duolingo dropout sitting in silence. The first question came. 45 seconds of full Québécois French. I waited for them to finish. Then I slowly asked if they could repeat the question in English. They did. Politely. I answered. Then they asked if I had any questions for them. That was it. Interview over. I never got a rejection email. Not one. They were too pissed to even send it 😭 What is your craziest job interview moment in diaspora or back home?

@tobyasky Yes that’s a fair point tbh. The issue I have with Carragher is that most of his opinions on United are always biased. At the start of the season he predicted United to finish 9th which I felt was really disrespectful after the good transfer window we had.

As at when Jamie made that comment, he wasn’t wrong. Casemiro was playing really bad and people made excuse for him because of the beautiful career he had before United. Let’s not all pretend like it was all rosy for him. Many United fans wanted him out. We must rather give credit to Casemiro for redeeming himself, bouncing back, and then leaving on a high, the best thing to do.

What Osimhen has been displaying is what the streets teach you. You may not know somebody from anywhere, but all of a sudden, he’s referring to her as his sister. On the streets, everyone is brother and everyone is your sister. The one wey senior you is your egbon, even if una no be blood. I remember the day Osimhen replied my message, the way he responded sef, you’d think we’ve been friends for ages, Mesef reply am with “baba nla”, as street meet street😂 The streets teach you how to relate with people, you can’t buy that anywhere. There are people I have invited for live games from Twitter, when we met for the first time, conversations did not end, we didn’t look for what to talk about, street lessons. Talk must Dey.
