We have spent £180m on plans for a tunnel under Stonehenge. The project is now scrapped. You can be for a tunnel & think spending is a good idea (even if you think the cost of planning is silly). You can be against a tunnel & think spending is a bad idea. But *nobody* can be for spending on this scale with zero result. And yet that is a peculiarly British outcome. Nobody will be reprimanded. Nobody will see their career affected. But that’s £180m of taxpayer money just wazzed up the wall. Totally without repercussions. Multiply this by airport expansions & train route plans and Thames crossings and power stations and other examples you can think of yourself, and… soon you’re talking serious money.

Mosedale Cottage a remote bothy in the #lakedistrict Requires effort and navigation for many to get there. Now look! 💔😢 My volunteer pals are thinking of giving up cause these tame images (there’s worse) and frequently common. From newly planted trees ripped up, drug paraphernalia, human waste in rooms and about the building….. What to do? #litter #outdoors Do folk not care anymore? And some folk sadly ignore the reality on the ground in places like Cumbria seeking a “right to roam” anywhere 🤔🤔 Such access requires responsibility and care. Nature needs space too of course. That said, if we can’t treat places with right to roam access now with care and respect now? As I say. What to do?

On a train heading out of London for a trip to England. Thought I’d show you the architectural dross that is Nine Elms. Possibly the most poorly designed, most devoid of character, devoid of personality area in London. If you can bear to watch to the end, there is a glimpse of an architectural masterpiece amongst it all though.

I see some weird things but this takes the biscuit. A vulnerability in the Companies House website, that let anyone view the private dashboard of any one of the five million registered companies, see directors' personal details. And modify them.

Every day I see numerous posts about people’s pets passing away and how painful it is. I “like” each post because I feel each pet deserves it. Today it’s my turn. After 4-1/2 years our adopted rescue dog Nicodemus von Scruffington passed today. It was the hardest decision we’ve ever had to make but we know he’s now pain free and running happily. He was the sweetest, kindest boy. My posts never get many views but if you could look at the pics of our sweet guy I’d really appreciate it.
