Bobby Harrison: Efforts to eliminate the majority-Black district of Mississippi's Bennie Thompson might have been abandoned this year by Gov. Tate Reeves due to redistricting complexities. ow.ly/qRMx50YZPo6

Mississippi Redistricting & DeSoto County Judges – We Must Act NOW! Unconstitutional “special district” judges are being forced on DeSoto County by our own state Republican leadership, and our congressional and state legislative districts still need fair redistricting. Here’s the truth: The Mississippi Legislature quietly slipped two “special district” judges into a bill to appease the ACLU and liberal groups — right before the latest SCOTUS ruling. County officials were told we’d get more judges due to our high caseload. We agreed… then they snuck the “special district” language into the election section behind closed doors. Why? The same reason they stripped us of a duly elected Republican state senator last year. They must care more about appeasing liberal activists than protecting their own base’s constitutional rights. They never consulted our DA, Sheriff, or any other county elected officials — especially reckless since we border one of the most dangerous cities in America. These judges would be elected by only a tiny percentage of voters in the Horn Lake area, yet they hold power over the entire county. This has been ruled unconstitutional and it’s dangerous for our community: • One is a Circuit Court position that could put hardened criminals back on our streets. • The other is a Chancery Court judge who could decide major lawsuits affecting families and businesses. What we can do right now: Flood Governor Reeves and the Mississippi Legislature with calls. Demand they convene a special session immediately to: ✅ Fairly redistrict our U.S. Congressional districts for 2026 — don’t wait until 2027 ✅ Cancel the November election for these unconstitutional special district judges in DeSoto County ✅ Redistrict our state legislative seats and restore our 3rd Republican state senator and the Republican supermajority they gave away last year As a backup, I’m preparing a federal lawsuit. It could cost up to $100,000 and cannot be funded by local government — it will require private donations from individual citizens serving as plaintiffs. I’ve got some of the best attorneys ready to go and I’m gauging support for a major fundraising campaign. This fight is too important to lose. Call your legislators today and share this far and wide. Let’s hold them accountable! #Mississippi #DeSotoCounty #RedistrictNow #StopSpecialJudges @tatereeves @DelbertHosemann @MichaelWatsonMS @LynnFitchAG

Mississippi’s 2nd Congressional District (Bennie Thompson’s seat) was drawn with obvious racial bias. In 2022, state lawmakers openly packed Black voters into one long, snake-like district along the Delta —keeping it ~60% Black Voting Age Population — citing the old Voting Rights Act to “let them elect the candidate of their choice.” Race was the main factor, not compactness or communities. That’s textbook racial gerrymandering. The new Supreme Court ruling in Louisiana v. Callais (2026) changes everything: race can no longer be the predominant factor in drawing maps. Time for Mississippi to redraw fair, compact congressional districts based on geography — not racial targets. End the racial engineering. Support redistricting now!

Why would the tiny state of #Mississippi (pop. ~2.9M) have 18 (and counting) mosques? Leaders: I’ve asked the above ad nauseam; however, it appears your answering is ‘inconvenient’. Praise Jesus HB 1310 died in the Senate! Have you taken a good look at Madison lately? Oxford? Starkville? Even Jackson? @tatereeves @JasonWhiteMS @MichaelWatsonMS @DelbertHosemann @AndyGipsonforMS @shadwhite @ClarkeWise @senmclendon

I'm so tired of week kneed Republicans!

If we are going to redistrict, the time is now. Leadership is a funny thing. It’s popular until it’s not. It is unfair to wait until the next legislative session. If the Governor supports changing the district maps, call a special session now.
