Appreciate the ML details, but the bigger issue is transparency. Users deserve to know what models are powering the tools they pay for especially when it's been confirmed that Kimi k2.5 is part of Composer. Being upfront about that from the start builds trust. Hoping to see that clarity going forward.

Yep, Composer 2 started from an open-source base! We will do full pretraining in the future.
Only ~1/4 of the compute spent on the final model came from the base, the rest is from our training. This is why evals are very different.
And yes, we are following the license through our inference partner terms.

was messing with the OpenAI base URL in Cursor and caught this accounts/anysphere/models/kimi-k2p5-rl-0317-s515-fast so composer 2 is just Kimi K2.5 with RL at least rename the model ID

@nikgeneburn So much shit on this game for years without any fix attempt, and here we are "fixing" what isn't broken. First attachments and now this BS. Meanwhile PVE raids taking 4mins to start, game crashes all the time, and last patch was a "performance" one.

@levelsio It's always the same. You hear this for every model release. No, the models aren't nerved. Your expectations increase, your codebase grows, people don't refactor, model "performance" decreases.

I swear I wanted to write this about 6 months ago but never got around to it. And now, seems foregone.
I never liked them, because there was at least one decision that was annoying to undo. But fine, good for a lot of people.
And now, even if there's a good starter, I'm going to point my coding boy at it and say "steal the good parts, jut set it up like I always do. Oh and swap out X for Y while you're at it"
