Thank you to AB de Villiers sir for not just accepting our invitation but for wholeheartedly participating in wheelchair cricket and helping break the stereotype that a wheelchair is a limitation, Because it’s not. Wheelchair is a symbol of resilience & grit. @MumbaiCricAssoc

From legends like Jonty Rhodes and Justin Langer, who once visited the academy where I practiced in Lucknow and inspired our players with their words and presence… to being invited to Lucknow Super Giants practice sessions every moment reminds me how far wheelchair cricket has come. 🙌 And now, seeing AB de Villiers experience the spirit of wheelchair cricket with our Mumbai Wheelchair Cricket Team fills us with pride and motivation. 💪 A heartfelt thanks to Dr Sanjiv Goenka Sir for always supporting and motivating our wheelchair cricketers inviting them during every LSG match in Lucknow has been truly uplifting for our players. Your constant belief in inclusive cricket gives us strength to dream bigger. 💙 As we witness the incredible rise of women’s cricket, it stands as a beautiful example that cricket is truly everyone’s game. We too dream big to represent India on the world stage under the same umbrella as every other cricketer. For that, we need the support and inclusion of BCCI, because with the right backing, this dream can and will become reality. ♿🇮🇳 With guidance from legends and faith from the cricketing fraternity, Wheelchair Cricket will rise not as a separate story, but as a proud chapter of Indian Cricket itself. @DrSanjivGoenka @JontyRhodes8 @ABdeVilliers17 @JayShah @lonsaikia @BCCI @ICC @wcia_official @sqnldrabhai @narendramodi @CricCrazyJohns #WheelchairCricket #ABD360 #LSG #LucknowSuperGiants #CricketForAll #Inspiration #GameOfSpirit #Respect

@TheMumbaiMirror thanks for finally sharing the real story. @RamugadeRahul well done! Some may call you “negative,” but let’s be real & you only seem negative to those who’ve mastered the fine art of pleasing the system. I genuinely appreciate how you’re voicing the truth for hundreds of wheelchair cricketers in Mumbai who’ve been conveniently ignored for far too long. It’s ironic we have the grounds, but apparently, our wheels are more damaging than years of mismanagement. The irony writes itself, doesn’t it? It’s about time @BCCI steps up and ensures proper inclusion, as clearly directed by the Hon’ble Supreme Court. @MithunManhas @lonsaikia care to explain why wheelchair cricket still receives zero support? Why are Differently Abled Cricket activities still left outside the BCCI framework? Maybe accessibility isn’t the real issue acceptance is. And perhaps it’s time for other media houses as well to come forward, support the cause, and help the public see the complete and genuine picture. @JayShah @ICC @MumbaiCricAssoc @ajinkyasnaik @abhishereporter @AnkanKar @BoriaMajumdar @ians_india @PTI_News @sardesairajdeep @tehseenp @vikrantgupta73 @ANI @smitaprakash @RubikaLiyaquat @gargiraut15 @rawatrahul9 @toi_gauravG @pdevendra @kushansarkar @Vimalwa @mishradrrakesh @Vimalsports @kashyapvipul @VibhuBhola @Nitin_sachin @lal__kal @karishmasingh22

Unless @BCCI takes disability cricket fully under its wing, disabled cricketers will always face fraud, abuse & exploitation. Shame on you Haroon Rasheed
Somjeet Singh Gaur@Somjeet_Singh07

So telling the truth is my crime? 🙃 A wheelchair user exposes fraud in disability cricket & what I get back is abuse and hate. Haroon Rasheed from Agra has been running scams since 2013 under “Disabled Sporting Society” taking ₹10k–₹35k from players to make them play for India, even looting wheelchair users with false promises. One player is now driving an e-rickshaw for survival. After 2019, he shifted to DCCBI (Divyang Cricket Control Board of India) just to confuse people with DCCI (Differently Abled Cricket Council of India) – the only body supported by @BCCI Another dirty trick to fool players. This is the reality of “disability cricket” in India. Loot by fraud NGOs, silence from authorities, and insults for players who speak up. @agrapolice @MSJEGOI under RPWD Act 2016 is this allowed? Or should we just stay quiet and keep getting cheated? Unless @BCCI takes disability cricket fully under its wing, disabled cricketers will always face fraud, abuse & exploitation. Requesting Hon’ble @rashtrapatibhvn @PMOIndia Hon’ble @narendramodi sir & national media to highlight these scams. Because every time we raise our voice, fraudsters get richer and players get poorer. I have also presented video evidence & selection letters where he openly asked money from players. The proof is there, not just my words. I am only asking for justice and dignity for every disabled cricketer. I request our Hon’ble Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister @myogiadityanath sir to take strict action against Haroon Rasheed for using derogatory remarks against a wheelchair user. @JayShah @lonsaikia @ShuklaRajiv @ThakurArunS @ians_india @KirtiAzaad @RajBabbar23 @timesofindia @TimesNow @htTweets @the_hindu @toisports @abhishereporter @Nitin_sachin @saintkishore @Vimalsports @RubikaLiyaquat @saurabhtop @sardesairajdeep @TheLallantop @AnjumLiyaquat @vikrantgupta73 @dcciofficial @wcia_official @imRaviKChauhan @sqnldrabhai

Vikram , a fellow wheelchair cricketer from Punjab, passed away during a train journey. He collapsed long before the train reached Mathura station. A medical emergency was called at 4:41 AM, but despite the urgency, the train had already been halted for over 1.5 hours before reaching Mathura Junction. By the time medical assistance finally arrived, Vikram was no more. His lifeless body now lies on the floor of the railway station, surrounded by his teammates — all wheelchair users — who can do nothing but sit there in silent grief and helplessness. This is not just a tragedy. It is a painful reminder of how differently-abled athletes in India continue to be ignored — even at the national level. For days, I have been raising my voice, asking why BCCI refuses to bring differently-abled cricket under its official structure. Why are we still begging for recognition, for support, for basic human dignity? If this had happened to a BCCI-recognized domestic cricketer, the response would’ve been immediate — medical help, assistance, respect, and national attention. But because Vikram was a wheelchair cricketer, his body lies on a railway platform floor, unnoticed by the system he proudly represented. And what breaks my heart even more there was no response or help from his own state cricket association either. Not even a call, not a single arrangement, no sense of responsibility. This silence is shameful. It speaks volumes about the disregard for lives that don’t fit into the mainstream mold. Today, I have felt the unbearable weight of being a disabled person in this country. No matter how hard we train… no matter how proudly we wear the jersey… we are still not seen. We are still not accepted. We are still not valued. This is not just a call for support. It’s a cry for basic humanity. A national-level player should not have to die in silence and definitely not be left lying on the floor, with no one there to help. When Will Differently-Abled Cricketers Get the Recognition and Support They Deserve? Despite bringing laurels to the nation, differently-abled cricketers in India continue to struggle for basic support and recognition. The recent formation of BCCI’s Differently-Abled Cricket Committee was a step in the right direction, but the reality on the ground remains unchanged. Talented players like Rajesh, who have dedicated their lives to representing India, are still homeless. Many of our players, despite their achievements, lack financial stability, job security, and sponsorship support. While cricket is celebrated as a religion in India, the differently-abled cricketers who wear the national jersey with pride are often overlooked. Where are the big corporates that champion inclusivity and CSR initiatives? Where is the institutional support that can help these athletes live with dignity? It’s time for BCCI, corporate sponsors, and the sports fraternity to step up and provide real, meaningful support to the heroes who continue to make the country proud against all odds. Recognition should not just be about applause—it should translate into opportunities, security, and sustainable careers. Let’s raise our voices and ensure that differently-abled cricketers get the respect, support, and opportunities they rightfully deserve. indiatoday.in/sports/video/c… #SupportDifferentlyAbledCricket #CricketForAll #EqualOpportunities #SportsInclusivity @narendramodi @PMOIndia @AmitShah @ICC @JayShah @ShuklaRajiv @lonsaikia @RogerBinnyBCCI @ThakurArunS @abhishereporter @vikrantgupta73 @sardesairajdeep @AnjumLiyaquat @RubikaLiyaquat @iamsrk @BCCI @ChennaiIPL @mansukhmandviya @saintkishore @VibhuBhola @Vimalsports @anjanaomkashyap @ABPNews @republic @DrSanjivGoenka @anandmahindra @SrBachchan @AnkanKar @cricketaakash @sachin_rt @JontyRhodes8 @UnfilteredSP @Tejasvi_Surya @shubhankrmishra @RajatSharmaLive @gautam_adani @GautamGambhir @flyingbeast320

After England Pd defeat, ECB is standing strong in support of their physically disabled players. Now, we’re waiting for @BCCI to do the same. As cricketers, we need your support! Our boys have made the country proud—this moment deserves a tweet! 🇮🇳🏏 #SupportDisabilityCricket

The hope of scaling the peak of your dreams doesn’t come with any pre-requisites. If you’ve got an aspiration, there’s no stopping you. Because it’s not a disability, it’s just a different way of doing things.  #WorldDisabilityDay #TataCapital
