While the Clinical Officer vs Medical Officer wars continue. We should also move to not having medical officers perform surgeries such as Caesarean Sections because Kenyans deserve the highest attainable healthcare. These should be done by ObsGyn. The issue is numbers!

I just saw this small but very vital handbook at a clinic. We saw what the paediatric protocol did to reduce infant mortality. Kudos to the team @MOH_Kenya @TheKOGSociety and the rest. It was long over

Kamene Goro says on her recent podcast that she saw coffins being wheeled into HDU carrying out corpses. I’d be interested to know which hospital is this that has doctors dictating how long patients have to live and allows coffins into the wards. That whole story is hogwash.

@JoelJirane Sad to see more and more misinformation towards treatment options that have undergone extensive research and proven benefits. Discuss goals of care and expected outcomes for each patient (based on type of cancer, extent of disease, age, cost of treatment among other factors).

The election was conducted on the CnR platform, with a simple, secure, and transparent process. Eligible voters received a unique voting link via SMS. Upon accessing the link, voters were presented with the three elective positions. Voting was completed by selecting a preferred candidate for each position and submitting the ballot. The system was designed with integrity safeguards—once a vote was cast, repeat voting was not permitted. Any subsequent attempt to vote would instead display the voter’s previously selected choices, ensuring both accountability and transparency. The official results remain under the custody of the KMA Trust and will be formally presented during the KMA Annual Scientific Conference scheduled to take place at @SawelaLodges Naivasha, from 14th to 17th April 2026. The KMA Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, 17th April 2026, where the official handover of leadership (“PAWA”) will occur. This transition will be ceremonially cemented later that evening during the KMA Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony at 7:00 PM. KMA once again demonstrates that elections can be spirited, ethical, and fair—a standard that institutions across the country can emulate. @wambuijoan2024 Accountability and performance maybe. But the level of corruption every 5 years! The hiring managers/boards/commissions will be more lucrative. Look at devolution, great concept! More resources closer to the people. But which people exactly? Devoid of corruption, 💯

@makongomb @DoctorReign Assuming money and access is not an issue. You are pregnant/your wife is pregnant & needs a C/S. The hospital has: a feto-maternal obs/gyn, obs/gynae, MO/GP, family physician, reproductive health CO, CO etc. Who will you choose as your surgeon? - For yourself, not others.

@DoctorReign In Tanzania and Ethiopia equivalent of clinical officers perform cesarean sections successfully alot of these specialists in medicine are unnecessary we can upskill nurses and COs to do what they do otherwise universal healthcare will be a pipedream.
