Today, through a virtual visit organised by @UNICEF, I had the opportunity to speak with children, teachers and humanitarian workers in Gaza. Even through a screen, the reality is hard-hitting. But alongside the destruction, I also witnessed resilience, dignity and hope. As a former teacher, I know education is more than learning. It is protection, stability and the foundation for a better future. The EU is proud to support @UNICEF’s work in Gaza - from education to water and sanitation projects that continue delivering essential services in the hardest conditions. And much more needs to be done. Because the children of Gaza must not be defined by war. They must be given the chance to shape their land's future.

Halfway through Gaza’s catch-up vaccination drive! 146 teams are delivering life-saving vaccines to #children under 3 across 129 sites. Despite harsh weather, teams led by MoH with support of @UNICEF, @WHO and @UNRWA. reach children via fixed sites & mobile outreach.

"We are seeing war risk insurance increasing and at a cost of $2,000-$4,000 for each container." - @WFP "The geopolitical tension is already disrupting procurement routes. A malnourished child will get nutritional supplement with delay and at a higher cost." - @UNICEF

Children in the #GazaStrip dream of what every child deserves: trees, schools, hospitals, clean streets and playgrounds. Through #TheGazaWeWant initiative, @UNICEF is on the ground listening to their voices and working to bring those wishes to life.

For thousands of children in the #GazaStrip, Digital Cash Transfers can mean food, warmth, and dignity. With support from @FGRForg, @UNICEF reached 1,369 families, supporting 4,932 #children, including 1,404 with disabilities or war-related injuries. #ForEveryChild

“We lost all our clothes before the ceasefire when our home was threatened, and we had only ten minutes to flee. We took nothing,” Maysaa, a mother of five, recalls about their displacement in Gaza. The rains and cold temperatures are making their life extremely challenging. For weeks, UNICEF has been responding to the needs of children and families like theirs amid the harsh weather. With partners, we have distributed thousands of tarps, 28,000 winter clothing kits - containing jackets, socks and clothes - for children and 200,000 blankets to families. We’ll continue doing more. The ceasefire must continue and be respected and aid must be allowed in at scale, for the sake of children’s health and well-being.

This is very critical intervention to avoid disease outbreak in this flooding season

After returning to their home in North #Gaza, 6-year-old twins Yahya & Nabeela were critically injured by an unexploded remnant of war. @UNICEF is supporting families like theirs with integrated aid to help them face winter & cope with traumatic events. #ForEveryChild

As heavy rain and cold hit Gaza, thousands of families are living in makeshift tents with little protection. UNICEF is providing tents, tarps, and winter kits, but much more aid must be allowed in, NOW.

Heavy rains are flooding #Gaza. Thousands of families living in tents are affected & the rain continues to pour. @UNICEF has already distributed more than 5,000 tents, 220,000 tarps & 29,000 winter clothes kits. All our supplies need to enter the #GazaStrip now. #ForEveryChild.
