Tax cuts and pay rises. Stronger Medicare. A fair go for first homebuyers. We’re delivering real change for Australia.

@BenPhillips_ANU The pivot should be innovation in material and technological science that leads to an increase in productivity thus, real wages increase.

Someone just took @friendlyjordies to the woodshed. Absolute spanking. Now watch the same energy applied to the @AustralianLabor government. Their new insane #CGT changes, war on aspiration and capital, and deliberate attack on productive investment aren’t “reform”. They’re economic vandalism. Reality is coming for them the same way Mario came for Jordie.

Keep fighting. We are breaking them down. The new insane #CGT is loosing any support. It’s dropped from 33% to 27% in two months. Opposition has climbed to 37%. Australians are watching what this tax actually does to their jobs, investments, savings, homes and their businesses. The message is getting through. Keep speaking up. #ScrapTheCGTHeist #StopTheCGT x.com/taipan168/stat…
taipan168@taipan168

Wow, the support for Albo and Chalmers' world's highest CGT has fallen from 33% to 27% in May to July respectively, and opposition has increased from 32% to 37%. Who woulda thought? Keep going, and they'll eventually get the message. 💪 theaustralian.com.au/nation/politic…

The elephant in the room. Where does culture come from? The people. They will call Replacement Migration just a "far-right conspiracy theory", but we are watching it play out before our very eyes.

I sat down with @ElonMusk for The Insider this week. We discussed the future of AI—but also his foray into politics and his attitude towards Europe. Our exchange was extended and at times heated. Tune in on Thursday at 6pm London time (1pm New York): bit.ly/4fsnd9Q
The Economist@TheEconomist

“There really won't be anything that AI can’t do better than humans, apart from being human, perhaps,” says @elonmusk. He tells @zannymb that artificial intelligence may exceed the sum of human intelligence in about five years. Tune in to The Insider from 6pm London time: bit.ly/4vQxWB7

We can’t let these tech bros dictate how AI should work for us - we all need to have a say. Human intelligence should be the final arbiter of all decisions. That is why Labor is backing a National FAIR AI Taskforce.

@AlboMP Guy, what is this real change. High groceries, fuel, energy etc etc the list goes on and on. Your tax reforms have ruined those who bought with a 5% deposit. Renters are paying more. Housing supply is in deficit. Real wages and produvtivity are declining. You are a KLEPTOCRAT

BREAKING: More than 76,000 jobs were created in June and more than 1.3M jobs have been created under our watch. This Albanese Labor Government has overseen the lowest average unemployment of any Australian government in the last half a century. We recognise people are under pressure and we’ll continue to do what we can to ease that pressure with more cost-of-living relief, higher wages, more tax cuts and by helping people into jobs.

Anne Aly is a liar. If Australia is such a racist country where “Islamophobia” is supposedly rampant and nothing new, how did an Egyptian-born Muslim woman, who chose to return to Egypt to study English literature, and marry an Egyptian man, rise to become a federal minister in the Australian government? Perhaps she could show some basic gratitude for the opportunities and trust this country has extended to her, despite her background, religion, and ongoing connections to Egypt. I say we aren’t racist enough. Serving in the Australian Parliament should be reserved for Australian-born citizens only.

What Spain 🇪🇸 and Poland 🇵🇱 have in common: -Catholic. -Persistent national identity despite centuries of partitions, conquest, etc. -Superb warriors in most of history, but especially the early modern period. Punch well above their weight in military terms. -Peaked in the same century (16th). -On the geographical edge of Europe but at opposite ends. -Consistent threats from Islam. -Now, major tourist destinations. -Considered second-rate powers by snobs in the Anglosphere but their economy and military are much stronger than you would expect. -High tolerance for alcohol. -Generally cool people, easy to talk to.

The Labor Party has received more than $4 million in donations from the gambling industry over five years, including $1.5 million during the last election campaign. The Labor Party continues to let us all down by failing to act effectively on the harm caused by gambling. Australians lose more money per head to gambling than any other country in the world. We know it. The Prime Minister knows it. People are losing faith in the political parties because the parties act in their own best interests, not those of all Australians. This week's Labor national conference is a chance for that party to regain some trust from Australians. theage.com.au/politics/feder…
