Marathon’s newest map is arguably the most brutal multiplayer experience currently on the market. I can’t think of another game that competes let alone another extraction game

@JB_Ratel @PaulTassi @Forbes Arc has the same price tag and has maybe half the amount of content. Regardless of the price tags for both games. $40 is very cheap considering the amount of time you can easily sink into both of them. I paid $60 for both and still find that to be cheap compared to my time in.

I struggle with how Marathon cost so much. Destiny is an expensive game with multiple modes, worlds and a ton of variety. Marathon is one mode on 4 maps. Obviously I don’t know much about game development cuz on the surface I’d have thought it would have been a cheaper game to make.

@Bargus96 @CoyoteJoe304 @bumbadum14 And Yes, the skill floor is much higher than Arc. You don’t have to learn every single ability, but for someone who doesn’t play cod or anything similar. It just adds an extra layer of things to learn, more so than Arc. Arc is just a much better and polished game for casuals.

Extraction shooters are not casual friendly in general. If that’s what you’re looking for, you won’t find Marathon appealing but Arc is as casual friendly as it gets

You gotta put in time to even get an understanding of how to navigate through all the different menus. Learning all the different abilities, cores and build crafting. Marathon practically pushes casuals away

@Bargus96 @CoyoteJoe304 @bumbadum14 I’ve got over 400 hrs in Arc, I love it. I only have about 60 hours in Marathon. But comparing my first 60 hrs of arc to marathon. They’re almost not even in the same conversation. It’s such a night and day difference in depth and complexity.

Just look at everything you have to do, all while not dying and competing against the most cracked out pvp players in the game. @TheRooster One is way more hardcore than the other. You put in 40 hours in Arc and you pretty much have it all. You put in 40 hours in Marathon and you’re barely scratching the surface. Most ppl enjoy the chill experience with Arc. Definitely appeals to the masses.

Marathon has sold 1.2M copies so far. Although it has a dedicated fanbase, it wasn't a hit on the same level as ARC Raiders. Why do you think that is?

@Che_lea @KingRichard Arc is way more chill, Marathon is super sweaty. Solo’s plays like a survival horror game. Gotta be way more tactical. The PvE is super lethal and they finish you if you’re knocked. Embark has been developing those games. Apparently their best game isn’t out yet they say lol

@KingRichard How good is it as a solo player? I am a big ARC fan… but the devs seem to be purposely killing the game. Seems they grabbed the money and … developing 2 new games? What the heck.

I can't believe people aren't taking this time to play marathon. Arc needs time to develop new content and fix issues. That time is increased with them developing 2 new games, and internal issues. Marathon is literally 9.7/10 as an extraction shooter!

@TheGoobyFactor @ArcRaiderAlerts They’re really not, even the Queen and Matriarch are super easy to farm if you’ve already played through one season. No reason any of these should be hard if you’ve been playing since launch.
