#Pune is becoming “Tanker Town” despite being surrounded by numerous dams. Residents are paying lakhs every month for private tankers because basic pipeline infrastructure has never reached growing areas like #Undri, #Handewadi, #Mohammadwadi, #Pisoli & #NIBMAnnex. People are forced to pay property tax + Water tanker tax. And now citizens are expected to be “grateful” for overpriced water? This is not a luxury. This is a basic right. PMC cannot keep approving massive housing projects without water pipelines, storage tanks & long-term planning. Solution: Building 10+ water tanks on Amenity Spaces of 2.5 TMC each under a PPP model, along with a proper pipeline network, can transform the region and support 60-70+ societies, existing residents, retired armed forces families, and upcoming projects. Approval process can be done swiftly internally by @PMCPune Enough of temporary fixes. Pune needs permanent water infrastructure now. tinyurl.com/443wjhhh @dipanitanath & @IndianExpress - Thank you for your support #Pune #WaterCrisis #Undri #Mohammadwadi #NIBM #Pisoli #PMC #Infrastructure #PuneNews #Handewadi #TankerTown @PMCPune @Devendra_Office @Dev_Fadnavis @navalMH @PavneetKaurIAS @aniruddhap52303 @MURWDFoundation @NIBMFORUM

Has there been a collapse of the system? If water in adequate quantity is not available, why this drama of inauguration of 3 tanks? Why clause 3 in the Affidavit insisting on no Court action on PMC? Something is wrong somewhere for sure? Such actions do not give much hope to Society's like ours waiting for 20+ years for piped water? @navalMH @PavneetKaurIAS @aniruddhap52303 please come out transparently with facts ? Let people not live on hope that may not be realised. ITS ABOUT TIME THAT YOU DECIDE ON A MOROTORIUM ON CONSTRUCTION, until the roadmap is clear and visible on the ground. Am heartbroken with such going on in public domain with BABUS & NETAS quiet on this issue.

🚨 Imagine paying property tax for 8 years and since 2006 No Water Pipeline Network in #Undri, #Pisoli, #Handewadi — and still buying water from a tanker every morning just to make your family's chai. That's the reality for 55,000 residents across Undri, Pisoli & Handewadi, Pune. 📊 DATA ALERT — 62-Society Water Audit, May 2026: ▪ 62 societies | 12,317 flats | 55,427 residents ▪ 1,234 tankers consumed DAILY ▪ ₹9,87,200 spent by residents EVERY SINGLE DAY ▪ ₹36 Cr drained every year to private suppliers ▪ ₹200+ Cr lost since merger @PMCPune piped water delivered: ZERO Not one drop. Not one pipeline. Not one overhead tank. NO Development Plan Approved till date. In 8 years, Since October 2017. Solution is Ready: ✅ Under PPP Model build 10+ Overhead Water Tanks ✅ Construction cost — recovered from tanker savings in under 2 years ✅ Use Amenity Spaces as Land exists. Engineering to be delivered by @PMCPune. What's missing isn't money. It isn't land. It isn't engineering. @NIBMFORUM Imagine when even with CM intervention, this can't be done. We might have to go all the way to Delhi to get any real work done.

PMC water department is extremely corrupt. No or any moral scruples left. Citizens suffer due to active and proactive corruption . PMC plumbers are the middlemen through which lakhs of rupees are being earned.
Mohammadwadi-Undri Residents Wel. Dev. Foundation@MURWDFoundation

#SlipbetweenLipANDCup #HalfheartedmeasuresofPMC Whilst the intent was good, the execution is surely a let down and shocking. How can an Affidavit be asked from those, starved of Water for years? If so why have Developers been excluded from Affidavits given by them?

Is this what people vote for you for @narendramodi @Dev_Fadnavis @BJP4India? Outright goondagiri by the PMC. And this is after paying taxes for years without getting a drop of municipal water. Is there no rule of law left?

@PunePolice Stop Urban Terrorism in Handewadi & Undri ! 🚨 Midnight “Bullet Bombs” are turning Handewadi roads into a nightmare every night. From 12 AM to 5 AM, reckless riders with modified silencers are disturbing thousands of residents daily.

At least things have started moving... ! Handewadi residents are waiting for their turn 😞. We are still struggling for Water, Drainage, road and electricity related basic infrastructure even after paying the PMC Taxes year on year.

Fruitful discussion with Hon. PMC Commissioner @navalMH on Hon. CM @Dev_Fadnavis ji's May 17 visit to launch the Mohammadwadi water supply project. Strong leadership, solid work for citizens by PMC Commissioner. Big relief coming for residents! 💧 #Pune #Mohammadwadi #Development

CM lauds role of citizens and citizen forums for real work in Mohammadwadi.
Pune Pulse@pulse_pune

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday credited citizen forums and resident associations from Mohamadwadi Undri for playing a crucial role in the completion of the long-pending Mohammadwadi water supply project, saying sustained public follow-up helped push the scheme to execution after nearly two decades of water scarcity in south Pune. Speaking at the inauguration of overhead water tanks and the equitable water distribution network in Mohammadwadi, Fadnavis said organised citizen participation had become instrumental in ensuring civic infrastructure projects moved forward in rapidly urbanising areas. “Some forum members are in touch with me and regularly send SMSes regarding the progress of the work. These citizen forums have played an important role in the success of the Mohammadwadi overhead water tank supply project,” Fadnavis said while addressing residents. The water supply scheme is expected to benefit nearly three lakh residents across Mohammadwadi, Undri and surrounding localities, where citizens have relied heavily on water tankers and irregular private supply despite rapid residential development and increasing tax contributions. For several years, resident welfare associations and citizen groups from Mohammadwadi and Undri have actively campaigned for improved civic amenities through protests, meetings with civic officials, social media outreach and repeated representations to elected representatives. Activists have consistently highlighted the widening gap between large-scale construction activity and inadequate infrastructure such as water supply, roads and drainage systems. Fadnavis described the commissioning of the project as one of Pune’s major urban infrastructure milestones and praised Pune Municipal Commissioner Naval Kishore Ram and former civic chief Pavneet Kaur for expediting the project. The chief minister also pointed to significant challenges within Pune’s water distribution network, stating that ageing infrastructure and nearly 50 per cent water leakage in some areas continued to affect supply efficiency. He directed officials to complete the remaining pipeline and distribution work within the next two months and said he would review progress again along with Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar. The programme also carried political significance as the state government highlighted infrastructure delivery in Pune’s fast-growing suburban belt ahead of future civic and assembly-level political mobilisation. Citizen forums in Mohammadwadi and Undri have increasingly emerged as influential pressure groups on issues including water supply, traffic congestion, road widening and urban amenities. @NIBMFORUM @MURWDFoundation @PMCPune @Dev_Fadnavis @SunetraA_Pawar @PavneetKaurIAS #PMC #Pune #Undri #Mohamadwadi #DorabjeeWaterTanks
