Man who has spent the last fortnight in the trenches defending Feile decision to exclude and cancel Women's Rights Network event, today decides it really wasn't that important, and anyway the sun is out! WRN event tomorrow is sold out, they say they're inundated with new members joining, they've nearly doubled their Twitter followers in a fortnight, their message has been amplified across N Ireland and further afield. And a behemoth of an organisation, which last year (below) hosted an event to attack the UK Supreme Court ruling on biological sex, is now facing serious questions on its state funding and its legal obligations towards equality and its own claim to represent a spectrum of views.

Honest to God - how on Earth do these people puff themselves up as the “good guys”? The reason that the venue is kept quiet until close to the time is due to threats of violence and disruption from their side. Something never replicated the opposite way. @ni_wrn @SeeRedWoman1

SOLD OUT!!!! Women's Rights Network event, which was cancelled by Feile an Phobail last week, but is now being offered at a different venue in Belfast city centre, same time, same format as originally planned. The original Feile event, which was free to attend, might have attracted 50-100 on a typical Feile weekday event, or 100-200 on its very best day. Now with tickets priced at £5, and they're sold out. Apart from the event, @NI_WRN has now nearly 5,000 followers, their cancellation and exclusion has been across mainstream media, and their message on same-sex spaces and sports has been aired and debated across mainstream and social media. Regardless of tomorrow's event, they have prevailed.

@ni_wrn what you need to pay attention to is how many women/females are insulting, berating, mocking, condemning and “threatening” your group and members………. because it’s only ever men, “toxic masculinity”, “male violence” and “misogyny” that women’s groups focus on, isn’t it?

When we attend events from those of differing opinions, as we did last year at the festival that shall not be named, we were quiet, respectful, asked questions and left without incident. Sadly due to threats online we must act to keep our panellists and attendees safe. Most sex realist events must operate this way as we are constantly under threat of violence. Should this be how women have to operate when talking about their sex based rights and protected beliefs?

@mgtruth No one acused you of threats Ruth. Feel free to unfollow us if you arent able to tolerate simple criticism of your posts. We posted about the threat of violence to GC women. Its sad you arent able to understand that.
