I'm Javeria Siddique, widow of Pakistani journalist Arshad Sharif, who was murdered in Kenya in 2022. Since his killing, I've faced relentless harassment and intimidation in Pakistan. Recently, unknown people have been visiting my house, calling out my name and ringing the doorbell non-stop, causing immense distress. Suspicious men have been asking about me on my street, inquiring about my movements. The investigation into Arshad's murder has been slow, with no arrests made. A Pakistani fact-finding team concluded that his murder was "pre-planned," and the Kenyan High Court declared it unlawful. On social media, a coordinated campaign has been waged against me, including character assassination and false accusations. The harassment is escalating. It's terrifying. I just want justice for Arshad and to feel safe in my own home in Islamabad Pakistan.
