The AIPH Green City Standard is the world's first plant-centric benchmark for urban greening, set to launch in early 2026. This innovative framework helps cities plan, measure, and enhance their urban greening efforts. Key features include: A self-assessment framework for continuous improvement Evidence-based indicators showcasing the benefits of urban greening, including climate resilience and health A peer-learning platform for data and insights exchange An accreditation pathway for visibility and investment readiness The AIPH Standard aims to support cities while accommodating diverse international contexts. A public consultation is currently open for contributions from cities and stakeholders to ensure the final framework meets global needs. bit.ly/4irjdHQ #Cities #Biodiversity #ClimateChange #ClimateAction #Resilience #LeadershipMatters @AIPHGreenCity @ClimateBen @c40cities @FAOclimate @EUClimateAction @eumayors @ICLEI_USA @ICLEI_Europe @MayorofLondon

#Paris🇫🇷 shows what cities can be when streets are designed for people, not cars. 🌿🚶‍♀️🚲 Traffic-choked roads transformed into green, healthy, joyful public spaces. This isn’t a dream. It is policy, design, choice. If Paris can do it, every city can. What are we waiting for?

American transportation firm Volonaut (@volonaut) has released test footage of its Airbike, a personal aircraft resembling a flying motorcycle that uses jet engines to hover and glide through the air at speeds of up to 102 kilometres per hour. Volonaut described the product as the "world's first flying superbike" – although for now, it can only remain airborne for up to 10 minutes at a time. Follow the link in our bio to learn more. ✍️ Alyn Griffiths

Scientists have shown that U.S. oil and gas drilling sites are not just leaking methane but also a host of toxic chemicals that pose an urgent threat to the health of those living nearby. A new interactive map details the impact of hundreds of major leaks. How can #cities 🆒 down without driving up emissions? Step 1️⃣: Reduce the amount of heat that buildings absorb & generate. Step 2️⃣: Enhance natural ventilation & use building materials that store coolness or absorb excess heat. More 👉 bit.ly/4lKV3YE
