Too on point not to share. This is great, but too bad the Orange Felon’s enablers won’t let him see it. This Australian's reply to #Trump's rant about “NATO not being there for America” is perfect. "Mate. You run a country with 600,000 homeless people sleeping on the street tonight. A country where 40% of adults can't cover a $400 emergency without borrowing money. A country where insulin costs more than a car payment and people are rationing it to survive. A country where medical debt is the number 1 cause of bankruptcy. A country where women are dying in hospital car parks because doctors are too scared of abortion laws to treat a miscarriage. You lock up more of your own citizens than any nation on earth. More than China. More than Russia. More than North Korea. The land of the free has 2 million people in cages, and a quarter of them haven't even been convicted of anything. They're just too poor to make bail. Your life expectancy is going backwards. You're the only developed nation where that's happening. Your infant mortality rate is worse than Cuba's. Your kids do active shooter drills between maths and English while you sell the gunmaker's stock to your mates. Your minimum wage hasn't moved in 15 years. You've got teachers working 2 jobs and veterans sleeping under bridges and you just spent a trillion dollars flattening a country that didn't attack you. And you’ve got a convicted felon, adjudicating raping, paedophile protecting, porn star shagging insurrectionist running the biggest dumpster fire war campaign since the Taliban thanked you very much for losing again. And you're calling Greenland poorly run? Greenland has universal healthcare. Free education. One of the lowest incarceration rates in the world. Nobody goes bankrupt there because they got sick. Nobody dies in a waiting room because their insurance said no. 'NATO wasn't there when we needed them." When exactly was that, champ? September 11? Because NATO invoked Article 5 for the first and only time in history FOR YOU. Soldiers from dozens of countries deployed, fought, bled, and died in Afghanistan FOR YOU. Australia wasn't even in NATO and we still showed up. For 20 years. And you pulled out at 2am without telling anyone and left them to deal with the mess. So maybe before you start calling other countries poorly run, have a look at your own backyard, you spray-tanned aluminium siding salesman. The only thing poorly run in this picture is your f----- mouth." - Tony Locke

@TruthFairy131 honestly at this point we should be forcibly deporting anyone with a criminal history that came over here on a working visa. They hate the country and it's people and scam our most vulnerable people on NDIS and all major parties want to keep that hidden. Bit late now!

@MarcoBogaers @TMFScottP If thats the best you can do, no sympathy. If your business revenue is 100% profit then stop bitching and pay your share of tax like everyone else should.

The blatant self-interest dressed up as national interest on NG and CGT is not surprising but pretty ordinary. Yes, there are some who genuinely think the changes aren't in the national interest... but they're the exception, not the rule. It's fair for asset owners to pay more

@MarcoBogaers @TMFScottP But, I could be convinced and be sympathetic about the change if there's genuine reasons why a sole operator business whose income is paid into a trust so that income is split amongst multiple individuals who have no role in the business is for the greater good.

@MarcoBogaers @TMFScottP Am sure you know what the rules will be. Then this will be the law. And it is clearly designed to counter tax minimisation trust arrangements. About time. It's be a bigger rort than the CGT discount.

@Paul888Desmo @MaryKostakidis @AlboMP Exactly, albeit i couldnt give a rats arse if he's a vc recipient or not. Do the crime do the time. Let the courts decide. Not a pariah, yet, but doesnt look good given those who appear will give testimony.

@Zazba4Td @MaryKostakidis You can attempt to, and the attempt itself is genocide by definition. Do you seriously think that because the attempted genocide is not successful thata a defence against the charge. Talk about dumbassery.

@NoToQT @MaryKostakidis Whataboutism loses every argument before it starts. If there are murderous soldiers of Islam, prosecute them too. If its good enough for BRS to be held accountable for his actions its good enough for everyone within jurisdiction of Aus, including war criminal IDF personnel here.

@MarcoBogaers @TMFScottP That's still the law. And soon trust distributions will have to be taxed whereas until now they were only distributions from a trust to avoid tax, albeit legitimately, until now. Whereas, someone earning a mere wage has to give the cash to someone else, post tax when they earn it

@Neilhoh @TMFScottP The trust is taxed at 30% - non refundable. It’s the two kids who miss out. They are at Uni, don’t have jobs & use their distributions to cover HECS. They will drop $3k each. Tell me again how this budget helps the young.

@TMFScottP Nonsense. The CGT discount pegged to CPI is a reasonable reform. After that it should follow marginal tax rates. The minimum 30% regardless of other income is a blatant cash grab by a government that can't control its spending.

Scott, when you hike taxes on negative gearing and capital gains, you don't just make asset owners pay more, you disincentivise housing supply, crush small property investors who are just trying to build a retirement nest egg, and ultimately force rents up for the people who can least afford it. Labeling anyone who points out these consequences as acting out of "blatant self-interest" is a cheap way to avoid a hard truth… Punishing investment damages the broader economy and hurts tenants far more than it hurts wealthy investors. Look at Singapore. Their booming economy didn’t become a global powerhouse by treating investment like a crime or focusing on wealth redistribution. They did the exact opposite… Keeping corporate and personal taxes low to drive growth, and then tackled housing through a massive, highly structured, government led supply mode.

Too short sighted... they just completley destroyed the cost/risk/benefit equation fkr investing in start ups or penny stocks Who in their right mind would invest their post tax income into a new company? I have had money tied up in NUZ for years in the hope that the pharmacutical company has breakthrough (which they might) but there is no way I would invest in more like them now. These companies need the money for research... this is an insane policy.

@TMFScottP @jason_king72 Having taken advantage of cashing out CG in zero wage years, i wandered why this rort, that I was in on, was allowed. In fact, im grateful for being the beneficiary of this inequitable set of policies for so long. Im sure not whining now that the change is to my meagre detriment.

@TMFScottP It depends what you believe will get the best outcomes and what is the most fair to individual freedoms. I don't think vast wealth redistribution and socialism is the best way to go. Its the path Australia is taking and the country will continue to deteriorate if it continues
