Services at Edinburgh Waverley have been delayed due to a trespasser on the railway earlier. They've been removed from the track, and we're working with our train operators to get trains back on time ASAP. @LNER @ScotRail @LumoTravel @TPExpressTrains @CrossCountryUK @ScotRail

@BTPScotland @ScotRail The first @ScotRail train is just about to depart Airdrie at 13:11 heading eastbound for Bathgate and then on to Edinburgh Waverley. In the westbound direction, the 13:10 from Bathgate to Helensburgh Central service is also just about to depart. @NetworkRailEDB

@BTPScotland @ScotRail ✅ Good news. Our team have completed repairs to the cables damaged during the attempted theft overnight. They're currently packing up their equipment and leaving the track. We'll then be in a position to get @ScotRail services running again between Airdrie and Bathgate.

@NetworkRailSCOT can you confirm whether maintenance teams use Environmental Management Plans, Environmental Impact Assessments or Facility Environmental Logs before carrying out works? I’m trying to understand what environmental documentation is required. @AlastairDalton

@JosephAndGod @AlastairDalton Hi Joseph, are you referring to the incident last week? The damaged cable which needed to be repaired wasn't within a tunnel. This was next to the railway track in the Finnieston/Kelvinhaugh area.

@NetworkRailSCOT can you confirm whether environmental screening is carried out before maintenance work begins, particularly for works taking place in or around tunnels? I’m trying to understand the process and when screening is considered required. @AlastairDalton

🚦 We're responding to a signal fault affecting services between Rutherglen and Anderston on the Argyle Line. This affects trains running via Glasgow Central low-level only, with high-level services unaffected. We'll share a further update soon. @ScotRail

@JosephAndGod Hi Joseph, no unapproved access points were used, and environmental screening wasn't required, so it wasn't carried out before work began. This was signalling cable damage which our teams responded to on the day in Finnieston, Glasgow.
