From day one, the Trump administration and Congressional GOP leadership pledged to lower prices to make life better for Americans. Instead, grocery costs have skyrocketed, health care premiums have soared, and affordable housing is more inaccessible than ever. House Republicans upped the ante today. They said they can make things worse. They tried to nickel and dime hard-working Americans and restrict their ability to advocate for their employment rights. They failed.

Affordability crisis is real. Under @GovMurphy, NJ is stronger. We raised the min wage, expanded paid fam leave, reduced incarceration, expanded EITC, repro rights, created child tax credit, & enacted progressive taxes like millionaires, mansion, & corporate transit fee, & more!

Last November, @NJPolicy proposed a realty transfer fee in a large package of progressive revenue raisers, thanks to great work by @ptrchn1! Now Gov is proposing it in the FY2026 budget! One tweak tho, let’s dedicate it to housing. Rising housing costs are hurting lowpaid fams.
