the US has two or three different layers of ban that apply to Iranians. Australia restricts entry. Canada has a de-facto tightening of visa policy for Iranians. the UAE is cancelling residency for Iranians. this is not the behavior of governments that care about Iranian people.

A recent USCIS policy memorandum has paused certain immigration benefits for individuals from 39 countries, including Iran. This pause affects categories such as OPT and OPT extensions, H-1B and H-1B extensions, Adjustment of Status (green card), and Employment Authorization Documents (EAD). Many Iranian scholars, researchers, engineers, and other professionals currently in the United States came here legally after undergoing rigorous background checks, extensive vetting, and formal visa interviews. They have maintained lawful status and have contributed meaningfully to American universities, research institutions, businesses, and the broader U.S. economy. I respectfully urge USCIS to reconsider and lift the hold on academic- and employment-based categories such as NIW-EB2, EB-1, H-1B, and OPT for Iranian nationals who have complied fully with U.S. laws and whose safety could be at risk if forced to return under current conditions. چرا این پتیشن‌های مربوط به uscis رو اینجا شیر نمی‌کنید؟ دوستای من بعضی وقتا برام میفرستن امضا میکنم در حدی هم که بتونم دونیت میکنم. به نظرم به حد کافی تو سوشال مدیا در مورد اینا صحبت نمیشه.

هیچ مهاجری هیچوقت خرش از پل‌ نخواهد گذشت! همه‌ی ما دیر یا زود با این قانون out of status میشیم! اگر هم سیتیزنید، آسیاب به نوبت! نوبت شما هم‌ میشه! این قانون تجاوز به حقوق همه‌ی کساییه که برای یک زندگی کمی بهتر، سالیان سال جوونیشون رو معاوضه کردند. #LiftTheHold

یه نکته ای در مورد تلاش های ما در مورد #USCISpause: نه آمریکا اونقدر ارزش داره و نه زندگی توی یه کشور دیگه حتی ایرانِ پس از جنگ اونقدر سخت که کسی بخواد فک کنه ما داریم شأن خودمون رو پایین میاریم. اگر احساس من این بود که برآیند کل آمریکا این هست که ما باید آمریکا رو ترک کنیم، حتی یک توییت هم نمی زدم. ولی اعتقاد دارم که برآیند آمریکا حفظ افرادی هست که سخت تلاش میکنن و چیزی برای عرضه دارن. «التماسی در کار نیست»! فعالیت های ما در راستای تحقق حقی هست که ما در این زمینه بر اساس قانون خود آمریکا داریم. #USCISpause #LiftTheHold #LiftThePause
