@HMBrough_ Outside of some Latinos, I've never seen anyone under 50 who's lived in the 🇺🇸 for 2–3+ years & doesn't speak English. let alone kids under 20, who r ashamed to speak their native language. Not saying there aren't some issues, but MAGA's problem with immigrants is skin tone 🤷🏾♂️

It’s always weird to me why conservatives still obsess over this. This battle was won decades ago!
America has a strong norm of English monolingualism that kids start assimilating to as early as preschool. 2nd-gen immigrant kids hate non-English languages more than 4Chan racists do.

The Trump Justice Department is dropping Biden-era charges against Indian billionaire Gautam Adani.
The reversal came after Adani hired a new legal team led by one of Trump's personal lawyers.
That lawyer went to DOJ and made a proposal: If prosecutors dropped the charges, Adani would be willing to invest $10 billion in the American economy and create 15,000 jobs.

@LexPullman @Empty_America He’s exaggerating, but there’s truth to it. Being tall and presentable makes people assume you’re more competent than you are and take you far more seriously. I’ve literally had people think I’m the manager on work trips, I’m 27 and a recent hire lol.

LatinAmerica is as always the glaring example showing the relationship between prosperity & being Western isn't causal. Latam is hardly a success story but there's no aspect of Latam institutions or culture which aren't Western-derived. Same for Russia. Denying this is just cope.

I'm no cultural determinist but it probably isn't a coincidence that most developed countries are either culturally Western or East Asian. Even down to Israel being founded by Ashkenazis or Singapore being Han-majority in East Asia.

U can slap 200% tariffs if u want, but unless wages drop by at least 50% & regulations loosen at home, products just get 5x more expensive and less globally competitive.

"Turk" as a nationality is like "Mexican" in that both are a spectrum mixture of different groups, and as such there cannot be a discrete genetic identity that shows up on a 23 and Me test as "Mexican" or "Turkish."
But I don't think most Turks know this!
