@thebeautyofsaas That’s not really it. As a gym bro I can tell you, it is still sad though. It’s basically a workout addiction where lifting heavy weights is the only thing that allows you to feel alive, like you’re accomplishing something and as an escape from the world.

the average gym bro is the perfect example of a spiritually broken individual. spending days trying to improve their looks while never taking a minute to reflect on their situation or the fact that they have nothing else but an identity built around impressing others

Most people can’t wrap their minds around probabilistic claims. They interpret everything as deterministic. IQ scores are probabilistic not deterministic.

@RC_mbty @Empty_America It doesn’t work the way you think it does. Don’t get surgery based on one single “study” you don’t even know much about. If you’re not a scientist and not trained to understand and assess studies, you should just ignore them. Because especially now 99% are BS.

@Empty_America It’s one highlighted sentence from one single study that we don’t have a link to. I really wish that average IQ ppl like this would just not have access to “studies” of any kind. So much misinformation and confusion gets spread.

@proverbs_14_23 It’s way cheaper to hire low wage workers than to maintain complex robots for most tasks. I work with automation for a living. It’s a ton of maintenance and anything with moving parts is always breaking down.

“Data centres will provide no real economic utility, it’s just a 3rd world slop factory.” I can’t think of a single thing more economically useful than automating all manual labour. This is the 21st century version of the transcontinental railroad.

@jayroo69 @Promptmethus It’s funny to me that a victory for the right is a teenage girl getting “owned” by some debate speech online. While a victory for the left would be putting that woman six feet under for wrong think. Very imbalanced levels of what they’re willing to do to get the upper hand.

It's crazy how there is basically no downside to long-term institutionalization of people this far gone and we just won't do it It's better for them It's better for the public It's much cheaper But it would require making someone do something they didn't want to do

@fluffygirlpaws The other option is to not be able to go to any public park because they’re overflowing with homeless people hanging around every area. Public parks are supposed to be 3rd spaces for everyone. Stop destroying them. They aren’t hotels.

Most people can afford kids. The reason they think they can't afford kids is because they're afflicted by class dysmorphia. The urban apartment, travel habit, premium mediocre foodways, and other lifestyle consumption is all a cope to cover for the fact that most college educated Americans are no more elite than a plumber or bodega owner. When you have kids, this illusion comes crashing down: You can afford the takeout, the vacations, the 401k contributions, but you can't afford the private schools and $1M+ home. If you acknowledge you're of the great unwashed and not a temporarily embarrassed elite, you can almost certainly afford kids by just living like your blue collar peers do.
Fish Stark@fishstark

To be clear: I’m getting married this year & am deeply, fanatically excited to be a dad! But we & many other couples my age (30) are having the heartbreaking convo “can we afford as many kids as we hoped” “they just want to play phone games” is deeply unempathetic & pedantic

One of the biggest problems in America today that no one seems to talk about is how White Americans have been completely mind raped by the self destructive “pull yourself up by your bootstraps” boomer slop. We’re the only race in the country that actively severs ties with our family and willingly handicaps ourselves for this insane idea that succeeding with the help of your loved ones is “cheating” or something. No other race does this, no other race chooses to move hundreds of miles away from their families as soon as possible and refuse to either accept or give any financial aid to any family. Hell even non American whites don’t do this.

This is my son. He is almost 16 and wants a vehicle. I refuse to buy him one and told him he needs to pay for it himself. He got a job as a rec basketball league referee and quickly realized how long it would take to save up enough money to get a $3k car making $12/hour. Then I showed him some cooler $6k options on Bring a Trailer and he got the itch to make more money. I gave him countless ideas to pursue. He wasn't feeling any of them. Then I decided to show him some podcast episodes from @mhp_guy (he's listened to some from Chris before and was a fan). No ideas were really hitting home until he heard an episode between Chris and @ShannonJean about reselling. He fell in love. So I showed him a few more and he was convinced that that was the route he should take. We started browsing B-Stock and then realized we need a state tax license and some other stuff so we got that all set up. Then we browsed some more. Endless deals. We settled on buying 115 rugs at an average of $13/rug after shipping. They're all Costco returns. Various sizes, some in better condition than others. He now has to figure out how to sell all these through my Facebook Marketplace account. I won't be helping him at all, other than answering questions and casually giving him strategic ideas here and there. If he can sell the rugs at an average price of $35 (keep in mind some are brand new and are 10' x 14' large), he'll make $2500 in profit. Then we can start car shopping :). P.S. Chris and Shannon - thanks for the motivation!!!

@GPrime85 I have a few ideas for movies that I’ve been dreaming of making for years. They involve classic samurai myths but take place in medieval Europe. I don’t think anyone outside of the games industry could make a good video game just by throwing money at it though. Maybe movies too

Dave Ramsey gives undeniably good advice that 99% of people are incapable of following. Spend less than you make and put the extra money to debt. Eat beans and rice, get married, combine debt, and don't get divorced. It's boomer advice, like all boomer advice, it isn't actually wrong, just largely out of date.
