I don’t know what all the buzz is around FSD. Literally Mercedes has achieved Level 3 autonomy while $TSLA is still at Level 2.
Also, my Hyundai Elantra has self driving like Tesla.
Took my 16 year old to look at cars today.
At first he loved the Toyota Camry we looked at, but when he saw the seats were cloth he hard vetoed it.
They have another one with leather seats, but it’s an XLE and costs $5k more.
How can I change his mind so I can save some money?
I really hope FSD’s highway behaviour and navigation gets fixed soon.
I was sitting in the passenger seat this morning while Jae used FSD. We drove 45 minutes downtown, almost the entire drive was on the highway. Watching her struggle with FSD’s decisions made me realize there’s a lot of work to be done before your “average” person can use it without any issues.
Something as simple as using the HOV lane, FSD still cannot do. It randomly pops in and out with no real rhyme or reason.
It will camp the fast lane while the slow lane is empty (causing two different people to flash their lights at us).
Was the whole drive safe? Yeah for sure, and that’s great!
But there was probably 10+ times that Jae had to intervene to get the car to do the “right” thing - including taking over so it didn’t miss our exit.
I absolutely love FSD, I think it’s game changing technology. But when it struggles with “basic” driving I can see why any non-enthusiasts would quickly dismiss the technology.
You can get mad at me for my opinion on this all, but I think it’s truth 🤷♂️
A few months ago I sold a Model Y with 362,000 miles...
Recently the buyer told me the state had reached out to him about how cheap he bought it for 🤣
He then proceeded to send me some pictures of him towing some equipment with it 🤯
It now has over 367,000 miles on it and counting. These things are beasts 🔥
@SantoroSystems Lower price, more availability, better quality like synced preferences, better apps to use, overall smarter technology.
The blow will be 1/2 the cost and little to no wait time when they can just flood markets with cars out of the factory vs waymo just cant scale like that
I understand Uber and Lyft.
I do not understand why anyone thinks that the cybercab will somehow be a detrimental blow to Waymo... Waymo would have to royally fuck up fairly consistently for like the next 5 years straight in order for them to die
@bill_pole@BigImpactHumans If you call they used to offer this but then realized it dramatically undervalues the product and now is subscription model.
@NoOne13072078@BigImpactHumans That restaurant bread isn't free, though. It's included in the final bill. And that's what @BigImpactHumans is saying... Include FSD within the price of the car as standard, so that everyone has it and can use it. Safety and convenience as standard, rather than as a paid extra.
I really wish Tesla would include FSD at no additional cost, or just slightly increase the purchase price of their vehicles to ensure it’s included. I think the majority of people would use it.
My friend just got a Tesla for the first time, and she’s using the free trial of FSD—she loves it. But she said she doesn’t want to pay monthly because that money could be used for something else, and she can just drive manually but if it was included, she’d use it all the time.
It’s amazing to think how much safer the roads could be if FSD were used more widely. If it were included, people would be more likely to buy a Tesla knowing it comes with FSD at no additional cost.
Okay here's the deal I just ordered 10 cobalt blue Tesla Cyber Trucks
I will be giving all of these away to followers tomorrow at 9pm PST!
