I’m thankful that everyone at the White House Correspondents Dinner is safe and for law enforcement acting swiftly.   While we still have more to learn about the situation, political violence in any form is simply unacceptable.

Paying 6.6T for 100 Terawatts of Compute a year is... 1) an insane operational goal 2) almost 3 orders of magnitude less per GW than we pay for 1 GW of compute today. Humans let alone investors cannot fathom this.

BIG SPACEX SCOOP WITH @coryweinberg > Musk will have super voting shares in a dual-class structure > He will receive stock incentive every $500B increase in market cap and can go as high as $6.6T; if the space data centers can deliver “100 terawatts of compute per year”

Researchers at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen have developed a snail-like robotic swarm that can connect to form larger structures. These robots use a two-mode adhesive system inspired by land snails, allowing both movement and strong connections. They introduced this system in 2024, and tests show it can travel on rough terrain, climb obstacles, and combine to handle more complex tasks.

@elonmusk @TukiFromKL This is a "broken record" of failure. Literally every story it's a disproportional amount of money. CO is also a shitshow. In the JBC meetings back a few months they were talking about something near 1M per unit to rehab a state building in downtown for low income housing...wtf.

🚨 do you understand what New York City just accidentally admitted.. NYC spent $81,705 per homeless person last year.. the median American household earned $81,228.. the government spent MORE to keep someone homeless than most families earned to keep themselves housed.. that $81,705 isn't going to the homeless person.. it's going to the system around them.. shelters, administrators, case managers, contracts, overhead.. the industry that manages homelessness.. not the end of it.. if NYC gave every homeless person that money directly.. they could afford nearly 2 years of rent.. most of them wouldn't be homeless anymore.. instead the money goes to the system.. the system keeps running.. the homelessness stays.. and every year they ask for more funding to manage the problem that the funding was supposed to solve.. the homeless are worth $81,705 a year to the system.. they're worth nothing to it solved..

Heads up Denver Voters, an initiative to ban foie gras will be on the ballot in November. If it passes, no foie gras can be raised, made, or sold in Denver. You can't order from out of state and have it delivered to your house. It gives the Department of Public Health subpoena powers to make sure tricky foie fiends haven't made any illicit purchases! Retailers, markets, and restaurants selling fois gras will face harsher fines than street dealers! Here's how it will appear on the ballot: "Shall the voters of the City and County of Denver adopt an ordinance prohibiting the force-feeding of birds and, in connection therewith, prohibiting the sale of products derived from force-feeding birds, including foie gras?" If you can't tell, I'm a no on this. Full disclosure: I don't even like foie gras (the texture squicks me out tbh) but I totally support the freedom to grow, produce, craft, create, sell, and delight in this food. PETA and their pals can suck it.
