I built 5 apps for Bulbul Challenge @SarvamAI It was fun building these apps and learning. 🫂 SOCIAL GOOD 1️⃣ Dhairya — AI voice companion for cancer patients 42 courage stories narrated in Kannada. Vaani lets them speak in their language and be understood. Finally got the opportunity to meet @dineshpaii face to face after 3 to 4 years of emails and Zoom calls. Shared the @mundhebanni story and came back with sharp inputs on improving reach, content quality, and overall impact. Truly an incredible meeting. The warmth, humility, and genuine interest left me bowled over. Thank you, Dinesh, for the kind words and encouragement. Looking forward to collaborating on many things, including having you, Nithin, and Nikhil on the podcast. 🙌 @akaranth @Shishir_S_U

1/ TTS has been solving the wrong problem for years. The field spent a decade getting really good at reading text out loud. pronunciation accuracy, low WER, high fidelity - all basically solved. But here's the thing nobody wants to say: a voice that reads beautifully can still be genuinely awful to have a conversation with. In conversational generation, the model doesn't get the full sentence before it starts talking. It's producing audio in real-time chunks, with incomplete context at every step. That's a fundamentally different problem than "read this paragraph nicely."

2/ A conversational voice has to do four things simultaneously: Sound like it's thinking - natural speech has micro-variations in rhythm, pacing, and emphasis that signal active cognition. A metronomically consistent voice doesn't sound calm. It sounds scripted. Sound like it's listening - intonation in conversation is reactive. A response to a frustrated customer sounds different from a first-turn greeting. Prosody is how speech signals intent, and intent changes every turn. Handle how people actually speak - in real multilingual conversations, language doesn't switch at clean paragraphs. It switches mid-sentence, at the word level. A voice agent serving Hinglish or Spanglish speakers encounters this constantly. This is not an edge case. That’s how the world speaks. Keep the user engaged - the hardest, least quantifiable problem. A robotic voice doesn't just sound unpleasant; it creates friction. Vonage found 51% of U.S. consumers had abandoned a business entirely after reaching an IVR. The voice isn't a UX layer. It IS the product experience. Lightning V3 was designed around all four. Listen to the voices - Quinn

Introducing Lightning V3 that beats every model we tested against - ElevenLabs, Cartesia, OpenAI - on LLM-as-judge evaluation for naturalness, intonation, and prosody. It’s state of the art in conversational text-to-speech. We’ve achieved the highest MOS score across platforms for conversational TTS at 3.9. ~76% win rate vs gpt-4o-mini-tts. 15 languages with mid-sentence code-switching. Built from scratch for voice agents, not read-aloud. Here's what we shipped, how we moved from a TTS that reads text well to one that can actually hold a conversation, and where evals fall short in measuring the difference. 🧵

@deepakshenoy Eagerly awaiting. In my podcast I had said "Language is an emotion" in the context of marketing, but the response to a podcast recorded in kannada was simply heart warming ♥️ The reach, the relatedness and encouragement it kindred has been truly beyond borders, unbelievable.

Have you ever heard of a CEO firing himself from the company he co-founded? Our next story on @mundhebanni is exactly that, and much more. From a decade-long career in tech to taking a bold leap into the world of investing, what started as a simple blog with deep, no-nonsense insights has today evolved into one of India’s most trusted investment research and portfolio management platforms, managing thousands of crores. Yes, we are talking about @deepakshenoy, founder of Capitalmind. Why would someone leave a stable career to enter a space as unpredictable as the stock market? What does the journey from Thirthahalli to Surathkal to Bengaluru to Mumbai and back to Bengaluru really look like? In this conversation, we go beyond the journey. What does it take to move from managing your own money to managing others’ money? How do you build a profitable, sustainable business over 12 years without chasing funding? And in a world full of “finance influencers”, what truly sets Capitalmind apart? We also dive into the questions everyone is thinking about but few answer clearly, mistakes beginners make, ideal diversification, emergency funds, AI trading hype, and how to think long term in uncertain markets. Trailer and episode drop this week. @Shishir_S_U @kodlady @akaranth

Hiring at @Replit. 90-day clock starts now. I was brought on by @pirroh to build internal platforms for every department at Replit - using Replit. Support, People Ops, GTM, Recruiting, S&M etc. Real enterprise systems, not templates. I need one more builder to join @seijadvice & I. Requirements: • You vibe code, but you also know what a P&L is • You've run something - a company, a team, a chaos machine. Show me that you can handle intensity • You can explain a database schema to an engineer and a workflow to a VP in the same meeting • You talk to humans just as well as you talk to machines This is not a "build me a pretty dashboard" role. This is: sit with a department, understand their pain, ship software that kills a $100K/yr vendor contract, then do it again next week. If your portfolio is landing pages and e-commerce sites, this isn't the gig. If you've built systems that actually run a business, DM me or email me directly with your Cover Letter, Resume and a Portfolio (site would be ideal but GitHub is fine) Bonus points if you built out using Replit and have AI features that go beyond a simple chatbot. (Must be able to come full time in Foster City)

‘Hosathodkku!’ means ‘New Start’ in Kannada. Today is the Vernal Equinox when the day and night are same. From now onwards, the day time starts to increase for us in Karnataka. ಹೊಸ ತೊಡಕು ಹಬ್ಬದ ಹಾರ್ದಿಕ ಶುಭಾಶಯಗಳು! 🙏🏽😊🌿

@amrishrau This is why one-man armies crush bloated agencies. No payroll to bleed out, just pure leverage. AI favors the solo operator.

Andrej Karpathy just dropped a project scoring every job in America on how likely an AI will replace it from 0-10 > Scraped all 342 occupations from the Bureau of Labor > Fed each one to an LLM with a detailed scoring rubric > Built an interactive treemap where rectangle size = number of jobs and color = how exposed that job is to AI The key signal in his scoring: if the work product is fundamentally digital and the job can be done entirely from a home office, exposure is inherently high. The scale: 0-1: Roofers, janitors 4-5: Nurses, retail, physicians 8-9: Software devs, paralegals, data analysts 10: Medical transcriptionists Average across all 342 occupations: 5.3/10. The entire pipeline is open source. BLS scraping, LLM scoring, the visualization. All of it. Much respect for the sensei this is scary and awesome

India sells nearly 1 million tractors every year. Now imagine a tractor that costs the same as diesel, but runs at a fraction of the operating cost. In the upcoming @mundhebanni episode, we speak with Anoop Srikantaswamy, founder of Moonrider, a deep tech startup building electric tractors designed in India for farms across the world. From engineering challenges in dusty Indian fields to why they chose tractors instead of cars, this is a fascinating conversation about innovation where it matters the most.
