I just talked to an uber driver in Las Vegas who makes 600 dollars per day driving for 8-9 hours. The US enters a recession the moment this opportunity is no longer available.

It’s hard to understand what the other 39% are thinking. Once you drive a Tesla, it’s like driving an all-seeing sensor with a super computer behind the scenes doing all the decision making, driving and navigation. Also, you never have to go to a gas station.

You know that feeling when you’re on a flight across the country, and you hit cruising altitude and just kick back and relax? That’s what taking long distance trips on Tesla Self-Driving feels like now.

Ok made salmon 🍣 sashimi at home. Lots of myths out there, but so far this has been safe and very tasty. The biggest myth I’ve uncovered is there really is no such thing as “sushi grade fish” you buy from the store. However if you buy from a fish market, they may do a similar prep as below and upsell as sushi grade… This prep below is one path to get it there. I’ve done this now 4x w/about 10lbs of salmon in total and realized about a 10x savings vs at a restaurant… Attempt at your own risk/convenience, this isn’t advice . Keys: -packed day of (Costco or Trader Joe’s is fine, others too). High volume and good sources are important. -minimal or no water in packaging (tip it and check) -farm raised for consistent feed -no breaks or holes in skin texture Prep: -I typically buy a 1.5-3lb filet and cut them into smaller fillets, skin off -pad dry, cover in kosher salt, white sugar -put in the fridge to set for 1hr -Remove, should have consistent color and a glistening surface, wash each piece under cool water to remove the salt and sugar -pad dry thoroughly, they should smell great btw, no fishy smell -wrap in paper towels and put into ziplock freezer bags. -freeze for 7 days (for a 0 to -4deg freezer, less if -15deg) to kill anything unwanted -thaw in fridge after I can’t imagine any safer prep than this and who knows what sushi restaurants, grocery stores, etc really do. There is no such thing as “sushi grade fish”, but these are the steps for raw salmon. 🍣

So I have been thinking about my future Asian trip to Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam and Thailand. One other potential destination could be Japan. Though I don’t particularly like large cities at all, the countryside looks amazing in Japan, and not too crowded. Seeing how nice the Japanese are on X, I feel like I need to take that destination into consideration. There are monkeys and deer there, so there is some wildlife to keep me entertained. My main question is: how affordable is the countryside of Japan? If I am going to stay around a month, I need lodging and food to be reasonable, around American prices. Do you have any recommendations if you are either Japanese, or have been prior? Thank you in advance. I prefer country life, wildlife, and excellent food. #japan

Ok. I tried to read the Ian M. Banks Culture books to get a preview of the future Elon is building 📚 He mentions them all the time But honestly, they were super boring and I gave up 😂 Has anyone read them fully? What can we learn? @grok help us summarize them 🙏

@WR4NYGov @JoeAlderman11 The food is very affordable. Uber/taxis are expensive. Hotels/Airbnb are somewhat expensive due to demand I suppose.

Japan is very affordable. Even in the cities. There’s a few parts of Tokyo and some other spots where it’s a little more expensive, but in general, it’s moderate. I just paid $10 for 2 cups of coffee and two pieces of apple pie in a train station. The pie was excellent. You can generally get a meal in a restaurant for about six US dollars.

@cantonmeow Stays more in the middle with Standard mode, but in general left most lane is the fastest and passing on the right is a gamble for sure.

One thing I dislike about FSD is that it always like to get on the leftest lane on the highway where all the gamblers are, but it’s not always the fastest. Why can’t it be a little contrarian? Not saying the right lane, but maybe the middle? $TSLA

Whoah, self-driving cars compete with airlines. I never considered that till now.
Nahuel Hilal - TattooGuy@nahuelhilal

Yesterday I drove my @tesla 900 miles on FSD from Miami to Nashville and I realized it’s genuinely the better option. I fly that route 2 to 3 times a month. Flights are never under $400. Most times $600. Sometimes $800. Add Uber to and from both airports, or parking garage fees. Then factor in the delays, the cancellations, the security theater, the chaos, the guy next to you who hasn’t met deodorant yet. On the other hand: I pack healthy snacks, press one button, and the car just goes. I took calls. Replied to emails. FaceTimed my family. Ate without pulling over. Did everything I normally do on a travel day, except none of the stuff that makes travel days miserable. My biggest concern going in was range and charging. Here’s what actually happened: My bladder needed one extra stop the car didn’t even suggest. Most charging stops were under five minutes. Total cost for the whole trip was less than just the uber to the airport. And this was the base model Y. Now I’m thinking I should get something comfier and just make this the default.

@elonmusk You should still advertise for Tesla though. It’s shocking to me how many misperceptions the general public has about the cars!

In Japan, you buy a train ticket, ride the train, then deposit your ticket in this box. No one checks. If you didn't pay enough, you can drop more coins in the box. This is what a high trust society looks like.

On a high speed train from Tokyo. This was the view. Also, the train has carpeting. Have any of you ever seen a train with carpeting before?
