I survived a kidnap attempt on my way to Lagos from Ibadan along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway — around Ajebo, Ogun State. At about 7:30pm, one of them suddenly jumped out from the bush carrying two heavy objects, trying to force my car to stop. He threw the first object directly in front of my car while I was negotiating a slight bend. I managed to swerve around it, then he threw the second one. Before the others could position themselves, I brushed the main guy that attacked with my car and sped off. Thankfully, I escaped alive, but my bonnet, bumper, headlamps, and fender were badly damaged. Omo… no be country una dey live ooo.

Soludo’s new policy will prevent families from going bankrupt because of burial. It will reduce excessive spending. Burying loved ones for 2 days is not an Igbo tradition. If it were left to me, I would abolish cooking during funerals. You are there to mourn, not to eat Ofe Onugbu. Many of today’s extravagant burial practices are modern social habits, not original core Igbo values.

I just got to the office now and heard that my colleague that has been an HR assistant for 10 years Quit.😂 In those 10 years, 3 HR managers have come and gone. All outsiders and they were trained by her. Last one resigned and for the first time, I thought maybe they’d finally see her. Instead, they brought another outsider. So instead of training him as usual, she did something different. She got another job, tendered her resignation and took her one-month leave.😭 Now the office is struggling. HR is a mess. And people are just realizing, She was HR.

@official_QV A lot of organizations do this mistake . They undervalue the talent before them because they refuse to see that person beyond their current position. Likewise sometimes when you deserve something ask for it. Show them what they stand to lose if you aren’t there.
