That battery topic is a real religion. 😅
There was a study in which they evaluated the charging behavior and the wear to the battery. It was found that charging above 80 and keeping that state is indeed adding stress to the battery. BUT, if you don’t do this ALL THE TIME*, it won’t impact your overall battery health at all. It’s just once over the whole lifetime, over hundreds or thousands loading cycles.
That said, even if you are not going to drive today, that won’t destroy your battery. Then drive tomorrow down to or below 80. I’d not keep it for a week or longer.
* Btw: even if you do this all the time, your battery wear is higher. However, the difference is not very significant, meaning, even if you charge it all the time to 100, you battery will not be destroyed after a reasonable time.
