Southport knife attack survivor Leanne Lucas 'devastated' after 48 NHS staff accessed her medical records for NO reason Leanne Lucas, the dance instructor who was stabbed while running a Taylor Swift-themed children’s workshop in Southport in July 2024, has been told almost two years later that 48 members of staff at University Hospitals of Liverpool Group looked at victims’ confidential records with zero clinical justification. The trust discovered the breaches in August 2024 but delayed telling survivors until this week, claiming it was to protect their mental health. Leanne said: “I am absolutely devastated and horrified that my privacy has been invaded when I was at my most vulnerable… 48 people not involved in my care abused their position of trust.” The hospital has now launched HR disciplinary action against the staff involved, notified regulators and professional bodies, and issued a formal apology. Woman Raped Outside Luxury Flats In Streatham, Police Release Images of Suspect. Police have launched an urgent appeal after a woman was brutally raped in the early hours outside a prestigious new development in Streatham Hill. The horrifying attack took place at around 5.30am on Tuesday, May 12, outside Gaumont Place, part of the London Square Streatham Hill development, just steps away from the busy high street, a high concentration of HMOs, and Streatham Hill station. The assault was captured on CCTV, but was not reported at the time. Police were only alerted the following day after reviewing the footage and have now confirmed it as a serious sexual offence. Despite this clear video evidence, the victim has still not come forward. Detectives are growing increasingly concerned she may be too traumatised to contact them, or that something even worse may have happened to her afterwards. Metropolitan Police officers, led by Detective Constable Charlie Codrington, have released clear CCTV images of the suspect they are desperately trying to trace. The man is described as a black male of medium build in his early 30s, wearing a dark cap, dark hooded jacket and carrying a backpack. DC Codrington: "This was a horrifying incident which took place in broad daylight, close to a busy high street. We know the woman in this footage will be scared, but we urge her to contact the police. We are concerned for her wellbeing and officers are here to provide her with welfare, medical and trained support." The Met is appealing for anyone who recognises the man in the CCTV images, or who was in the Gaumont Place area around the time of the attack, to come forward immediately. Thoughts about Japan: I got stuck in Japan during the pandemic for 9 months without being able to fly back home. At the time, I was staying in a 6-floor hostel in Ryogoku, completely empty except for me. The staff slowly became my friends since I had no one else in Japan. After the third month of lockdown, my money ran out. They noticed the slow decay in my condition. I was eating half a meal a day. One day, out of nowhere, they called me down to the reception. There was a big box, surrounded by several smaller ones. The staff had told their friends and families about me, and together they gathered groceries and essentials to help me get through those difficult months. There were even handmade face masks someone had sewn because they were impossible to find in stores. I was so overwhelmed with gratitude that I broke down in tears. From that day on, more than friends, we became family. Japan and its people embraced me when I was at my lowest point. It healed something in me when I needed it the most. Thank you Japan.
