Our home is <10 years old. The sewer line disconnected from the foundation & caused a 35 foot “belly.”
AKA the toilets won’t flush anymore, because gravity.
Insurance nor warranty will cover it.
Cheapest quote was $25k. Tons of digging.
Thankfully the builder is being a bro and covering half of it.
Still in favor of owning, but the costs add up!

Today we had an outage that ran for 3h42m, affecting 4.92% of our customers. All systems in us-east-2 were affected. I'm sorry to everyone affected. There is no good excuse - you trust us with your infra and we need to do better. We already have mitigations in place and we're working on a post-mortem. We will post it in the next 12 hours.

@patrickmadrid He’s absolutely right. The pace of advancement in AI’s ability to write complex code is frenetic. Software now creates software that can analyze better than any human. The average person cannot wrap their head around what this means.

My 9 year old is going to be a billionaire.
Yesterday he started private speech training for his Rs and hated it.
At bedtime he asked us to cancel it. We lovingly said no.
This morning, before my wife was awake, he snuck into her room, grabbed her phone, somehow found the woman’s email, and emailed her as my wife, telling her to cancel.
He’s never sent an email in his life. He won’t have a phone for 5 years.
I’m not sure I’ve ever been more proud of him.
His first name has two Rs, so when he introduces himself people can’t understand him.
One of our family mottos is “you can just do things.”
And that he did. 🤣Love that kid.
