Another first-class graduate of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Augustine Ayorinde, has described the Nigerian Education Loan Fund as a “lifesaver,” saying the intervention helped him and others transition from financial struggle to academic excellence. Ayorinde, who graduated with a First Class and emerged as the second-best graduating student in the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering, shared his experience in a post on X amid ongoing public debate around the student loan scheme. @NELFUND #NELFUND

We have a project in Ketu, Mainland and another one in Badore, Ajah, Island. Both are at a stage we need granites. Cost per truck of 30 tons of granites to site: - Ketu: N500k - Ajah: N675k Same quantity, 35% price difference. Furious when both got to my table for approval, I bypassed the procurement/project team and called the suppliers themselves. Finding 1. There are no rocks in Lagos (I knew) so the Ketu supplier sources from a quarry in Abeokuta while the Ajah supplier sources from quarries in Ijebu. Ijebu is closer to Ajah while Abeokuta is closer to Ketu. 2. More significantly, they incure more "road settlement costs" on Ijebu-Ajah route than Abeokuta-Ketu, large part of which is express road. 3. The Ijebu-Ajah supplier also complained of diesel cost, as Ajah-Ijebu road is prone to traffic (= higher fuel need) than Abeokuta-Ketu. When we asked whether the Abeokuta/Ketu supplier can just supply to Ajah, he said he also cannot deliver for less than N650k. Not much difference to change supplier for. Now, if we need 15 trucks of granites for a simple 5-terrace house in Ketu and Ajah, we will spend N7.5m on granites for Ketu project and N10.13m for Ajah project. Same construction, same city, different cost for same material quantity.

NEPA came to knock on our gate. I did not answer. Unfortunately, the gate was not locked, so they let themselves into the compound. I had no choice but to answer them. They greeted. I asked them if they were here to cut the light. They said yes. I responded, " I'm in support. Cut it!" and walked back inside the house. The man was shocked. We have not had light for months. The estate contributed over 30 million to procure a transformer. No show. Just stories and low voltage that cannot charge a torchlight. Every roof has a solar panel. That's how bad we have lost faith. Yet, they had the audacity to come and check for bills. He insisted I call somebody else. I asked him how he thought I would be able to charge my phone to make a call if there was no solar. Cut the damn thing. We should have invited them a long time ago to do this. When they were done, I went to greet them and told them, "Well done." 👍

@akinwale_cfi I am sure this isn't feasible presently. Even as at when he made this video, he sells for 5200 as a farmer. Now to the Offtakers, he sells 5000 excluding transportion and a little margin. Things are expensive now. Esp Logistics .

One of my greatest mistake in Life as a Farmer is being a FARMER. I shouldn’t have invested in a sector that is dependent on Government policies and bottlenecks. In my line of business, there’s no escaping Government inefficiencies. Nigerian Government will do everything in agriculture except solving problems. For more than 20 years farmers have been saying that we suffer seasonal Glut because we simply cannot individually afford Machinery for Egg Pasteurization. Government will listen to our complaints, lie that they are coming up with a NEGPRO scheme and go ahead to simply do the opposite of what was agreed. With high Electricity and Gas prices, investors are guaranteed not make their money back as Egg powder produced in Nigeria will fail to compete with Global market. Companies will rather import than buy made in Nigeria raw materials. State Governors are worse, they simply have no clue of what to do outside of using fertilizer as a political tool. They have refused to build or sustain any critical infrastructure (Dams, Health and safety of animals, meaningful collaborations or Training) The CBN under Emefiele refused to allow the Bank of Agriculture to do its job. With the growing insecurity and policy missteps farmers in Nigeria have little to no incentive to continue to run or grow their businesses. Don’t go into Agriculture, it’s simply not worth it.

@IamHollar @NathKings06 It doesn't hve to result in cursing. I culture broodstocks and are on 2mm all through till I sell off at almost 2 yrs. Must you curse to prove a point? Even at that, for 1k juveniles, I use 10 bags of 2mm before switching to 3mm . The methods works for loss in quality
