@BlakeTOliver How about handwritten receipts, poor quality scans of receipts and other bills? That’s really the core of hubdoc. Xero already had pdf extraction before they acquired Hubdoc. That’s the easy part tbh.

For 30 years my friend has been a loyal customer
He called to withdraw the money & they said no
He went into the branch and asked face to face to withdraw the £20k and they asked 'what it’s for'
He said ’none of your business, it’s my money’
They said ‘unless you can tell us exactly what the money is for, you cannot withdraw it'
This should shock & terrify you.

The figure here is fake. The “tax gap” is £36bn, of which tax evasion is £6bn. Most of that is small businesses - people taking payment in cash.

The only option was to call the number on the machine, which was a mobile number that just went to a blank voicemail of someone. If the machine is in your centre, it’s your responsibility. How hard is it to just say “sorry, here’s your £1, I’ll mark it out of order”

Really odd experience at @TorfaenLeisureT Pontypool leisure centre today. The toy machine swallowed my son’s £1 - no big deal - but the staff flat refused to do anything about. No refund, not even willing to put an ‘out of order’ sticker on it to stop other people wasting money.
