Premier Ford describes the group challenging his government’s Ontario Place redevelopment plans as “a bunch of crazy lefties that want to protect one tree, or two trees, or three birds.” The group’s lawyer explains the significance of Canada’s top court agreeing to hear the case:

@mmcleod6 The Ford government passed a law giving itself a free hand to redevelop Ontario Place without the public being able to sue to stop them; the Supreme Court will hear an appeal on whether this violates the constitution. Two lower courts said it did not.

The Ontario Science Centre property at 770 Don Mills Rd doesn’t belong to Doug Ford. It belongs to the TRCA and the City of Toronto. I’m asking council to ensure that this architectural masterpiece be kept in a state of good repair so it can one day serve the public again.
