AFG & SAFER: still shut down due to unfunded DHS. Firefighters/FD's need these essential grant options. Except for the first few years post 9/11, and w/ growing threats on US soil from multiple vectors, I can't recall a time when these grants were perhaps needed the most.

I wasn’t going to get into the weeds too much for the larger audience since the vast majority of arrests are non-traumatic and in those cases less than 10% of people receive lay person C0PR. Massive hemorrhage first, tension and so on down the line of course

@OneTallMedic @WarPath2pt0 CPR increase mortality in Trauma Arrests. So in fact, this is “BAD CPR.” The thing is, I don’t expect lay people to know this, but as a Medic, you should absolutely not be providing CPR (unless they’re initially in VT/VF) until you address all reversible causes.

I'm not trying to throw shade towards any victims or families in Austin, TX but it should as a reminder to get CPR certified so you can do it correctly--
