While the NYC budget deal will restore some of @NYCMayor 's cuts to funding for public schools, pre-K & child care, unfortunately it only meets the bare minimum to avoid worsening the damage of last year’s education budget, w/o new investments to repair the harm.

These folks were told by DOE in writing in June that their jobs were secure. Then @UFTUnity UFT leadership made a backroom deal 🤝🙄 and sold these UFT members out. An injury to one is an injury to all! Stop the harmful and unnecessary excessing of EC support staff! Solidarity!

The @DOEChancellor notified 300 Early Childhood Instructional Coordinators and Social Workers that they were losing their positions through a press release last Friday. This is an unacceptable blow to NYC children + families who depend on these staff for essential support.
