He's full of shit as usual. He is clearly not prepared to support a full resumption of the war, because he doesn't want to cause a global economic meltdown, but he also can't make a deal with Iran because a deal the Iranians isn't a deal the US could accept. So instead I think we're just going to have months if not years of this bullshit, endless negotiations punctuated by the occasional bombing, without ever reaching a conclusive outcome. It will presumably result in elevated oil prices, relative to a counterfactual where Trump never started this stupid shit in the first place, for a long time. And this didn't happen for any deep reasons of the sort geopolitics-pilled people like to talk about, but simply because Trump is a moron who thought he could get a quick win by killing Iran's leadership and never gave any thought to what he would do if their replacement didn't magically agree to do as he said.
