Wind/Solar+Backup are now where US Shale Oil was in 2013. Shale oil destroyed private capital but created cheap energy for society. RE will destroy public capital leading to expensive energy, a double whammy.

Carney is moving ahead on a new pipeline to get Canadian oil to global markets, something Alberta has been demanding for years. And yet, Alberta is STILL complaining. First it was “we need pipelines.” Now it’s “not this one,” “not fast enough,” or “not good enough.” At some point it stops being about pipelines and starts looking like a province that just wants to be perpetually mad no matter what happens.

Yes. He did well. Some are being mean to him because of his name which is worse than a kid getting opportunities because of his name. Xavier did his best. And took a bigger risk, by going out there and doing it, than his haters.

BREAKING: Israel expects the war to resume as soon as Trump returns from China and will raise its military readiness to the "maximum level" when he lands, per Kan 11. The US told Israel directly a few hours ago that Trump may soon order strikes inside Iran, with Israel already bracing for the Iranian response.

@jeremie0117 @PATCHnHrd @AurelionRsch The first thing you need to understand is that the global oil market moves at 15 knots. We are headed for the greatest energy crisis in generations. Slowly. Ineviytitibly.

Don't Fall for the Oil Bulls New research report explaining why we believe oil prices are headed lower. We believe the current cycle of demand destruction is creating a natural ceiling for the oil market, limiting the market’s ability to sustain elevated prices over time. #OOTT #Crude #WTI

With details of the MOU (aka. The Grand Ransom) between Alberta and the Federal Government seemingly imminent, I would like to offer the following: 🛢️a 1MM Bbl/d pipeline to the West Coast is a "pipe dream" if not funded by taxpayers, and the likelihood of getting firm volume commitments for that scale is highly unlikely 🛢️Pathways, a ~$30BN project, was conceived in a different world than now and should be scrapped immediately 🛢️Carbon taxes make the industry at the margin less competitive and encourages investment elsewhere - the oilsands are 0.1% of global emissions - we are irrelevant 🛢️The industry does not need to be "future proofed" nor need a "social license" - the world is desperate for more energy and not a single purchaser of oil in the world asks nor cares about a barrel's carbon profile 🛢️With expansion on existing pipelines plus the Prairie Connector/Bridger project (which I'm now incrementally more confident will proceed) Canada will add ~1.6MM Bbl/d of incremental capacity, enough to get us through to the mid 2030's

@PATCHnHrd @jeremie0117 @AurelionRsch I don't agree with him either, but if those are your best arguments...not very convincing. price of oil *has* dropped, despite Hormuz being closed and calls for Armageddon since March by various bulls. if the strait opens I also think it ll go lower still. but higher first.

Facts: 1. TMX is a government asset whose costs are covered by tolls from O&G producers. It is profitable. 2. Oilsands are not the most expensive barrel anymore, because it’s not 2015. They are generally among the lowest break-even barrels in North America. 3. Oilsands are not the most carbon intensive barrels. They are only 1-3% higher emitting than the average US refinery barrel, and are lower emitting than heavy oil competitors Iraq, California and Venezuela. Sources in thread /1

@PATCHnHrd @mmreynolds58 1/2 Thanks for pointing that the project was over spent. I know you don’t have a fucking clue how pipelines work in Canada do you?? The tolls industry has to pay are based on actual construction costs.

@PATCHnHrd @mmreynolds58 3/3 Thanks to an incredible high capital costs caused by the government dragging their fucking feet; the industry will suffer the consequences. And you think this was a fucking gift to Alberta and the industry. Fuck off.

Last summer, LNG Canada @lngcanada shipped Canadian natural gas to global markets from our Pacific coast for the first time — marking the beginning of a chapter in Canadian energy trade where we sent our resources across the ocean, not just across the border.   Today, I visited the LNG Canada facility in Kitimat to see firsthand the scale of this world-class project, the skilled crews making it happen, and the work that goes into positioning Canada as an energy superpower.   This is what it looks like when Canada builds. 🇨🇦
