@JohnLewisRetail But your Cambridge store (where bought) is 25 miles away from home, I'm only there every few years! Not going in for your mistake.. So I'll need a suitable envelope, or at least a post-paid label please Emaan. (Send me a link to DM you my address or email please).

@PDogTricks Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, there is no way to remove the security tag without the item being returned to the store, where they will be able to remove it for you. ^Emaan

@JohnLewisRetail on this special weekend for us, wifie would like to finally see me in this nice shirt, bought 21 Dec in Cambridge, but seems you left the tag on it🙄 How do I remove it please, without risking damage to my shirt? Hint: schlep out to a store is the wrong answer!

@JohnLewisRetail Nearest store is miles away Emaan! Not all at convenient, and journey costs. (Did you see my "hint" about this?) Please have another go, escalating if necessary. Thanks in advance.

@PDogTricks Hello PDogTricks, Thank you for getting in touch. I'm really sorry to hear your item has a security tag still attached. If you could please visit your nearest store, so they are able to remove this for you. ^Emaan

🧵In 2003, two tourists poking around a tiny Saudi Arabian island stumbled on a Latin inscription in the dirt. What it said rewrote the map of the Roman Empire. Rome's furthest outpost wasn't in Britain. It wasn't in Persia. It was here 👇

@Mufcye @ChronicAnxiety3 @nextSibling @MikeyCycling @but_cyclists No, that's a crime. Cyclists can indeed be fined, jailed**. Just never (under current law) BANNED from using roads**. No registration ie visual aid for their identity as/when they break the law, the harm they do not deemed to justify it. **assuming 🚴 is at liberty to do so

@ChronicAnxiety3 @Mufcye @nextSibling @MikeyCycling @but_cyclists Spot on. For motorists, using roads is a privilege, granted by revocable licence also taxed. For pedestrians & horse riders, using roads is the oldest of rights. On the advent of cycling in the 19th century, such rights were extended to them. None can be banned, in UK law today.

The deputy leader of Reform UK, Richard Tice, owns a property company - Quidnet REIT. From 2020 to 2022 it paid Tice and his trust £600k in dividends. Quidnet should have paid £120k of tax on those dividends. It didn't. A 🧵 with evidence from the company's own filings:

@CFCBlueDog @JoanneP65 @matthewburchell @British_Airways Paul, the FIRST rule of managing corporate social media is to get complaints, criticism OFF the public feed onto private messages asap. Reputation thus protected, some orgs then stall or blank-sheet it in their stamina-labyrinth, hoping you give up. For them, public pain helps.

The Apollo 11 mission landed on the Moon on July 20, 1969, after a journey of approximately 76 hours (about 3 days), with the crew spending about 21.5 hours on the lunar surface before returning. The Moon is on average about 238,855 miles (384,400 km) from Earth. They had food, bathrooms, Oxygen, etc. The most amazing part was they launched this spacecraft off the lunar surface, flew back to earth and crashed into the ocean with a parachute. THE UNITED STATES IS AMAZING!

March 23rd 1982: Margaret Thatcher appraises Parliament of the situation in South Georgia (using "South Georgia Incident" for the first time) and is met by uproar in the Commons: "If she doesn't get the Argentines out by next week, there will be a major disturbance!" 1/2

@vaggelask @jeremiahscholl @skdh Pilot Waves, Implicate order. De Broglie shouted down at Solvay. So "Copenhagen" caught on, with its fantasy wave functions, whose probability amplitudes don't satisfy continuity, so can arbitrarily collapse! Bohm got this, but sidelined too, persecuted x.com/i/status/20100…

🚨 In 1952, this quantum physicist discovered a "hidden variable" that connects all reality. Einstein called him "my successor." But, then he was: • Exiled from U.S • Erased from science textbooks • Blacklisted by McCarthy Because humanity wasn't ready for what he found🧵

what looks like the particle knowing whether it will be measured seems like a system evolving within a self-consistent space populated/saturated by admissible histories (potential paths, not ontologically distinct realities) that already incorporate all boundary constraints, including future measurement setups. The collapse is nothing more than the reconciliation of all admissible paths into a single experientially real event. If that's the case, the real question is, how does the universe compute globally consistent histories under changing boundary conditions?

The double slit experiment is the probably most misunderstood experiment ever. I have no idea who created the myth that if you 'look' at one of the slits, then the particles (photons/electrons) stop behaving as waves. It's wrong! They of course STILL behave as waves! Because particles are also waves, always. Photons and electrons make a self-interference EVEN ON A SINGLE slit. Don't believe it? Below an actual measurement from a laser diffracting on a single/double slit from Wikipedia. What happens if you measure which slit the particle goes through is that you get no interference between BOTH slits. And no, you don't need a conscious observer for this. Believe it or not, there have actually been experiments where they had people literally look at a double slit to see if that makes any difference and the answer is no, it does not. The entire mystery of the double slit is in the path of the particle TO the double slit. Because it seems that the particle must "know" whether it WILL be measured at one of the slits before it even gets there. It must "know" whether to go through both or just pick one. Seems like the future influences the past? Not really, it just means you have a consistency condition on the time evolution.

@thebeefyboys I can't find any prices on thebeefyboys.com. Do I need an account to login, then to place items in my ebasket, even to see any? What am I missing? A little disconcerting, I trust you're not embarrassed by the price of your burgers! 🍔🤔

@GiveBloodNHS @KananCoach Well done sir, keep going! Id love to continue (59 units/30yr) BUT if only the process obvs with safety paramount, supported donor preferences better. Like keyboard workers NOT being pin cushions who bail when trainee fluffs iron prick test.I'm suspended!🙄 x.com/i/status/20309…
PDogTricks@PDogTricks

@GiveBloodNHS trainee couldn't get enough of mine by finger prick, but I decline the venous iron test (keyboard worker so won't risk bruising both arms!) & bail. Safety is paramount, yet now you "suspend" me because process has no box for trainee ERROR? Maybe 59 units is enough!

@reportingLibya @DrChrisParry @StrontiumDog01 This looks correct to me. Many seemed to think the TEZ implied the UK would definitely NOT attack assets outside it. Not so, they inferred that, made it up Belgrano was indeed testing British resolve just outside the TEZ. The Taskforce's air cover hung by a thread, so UK acted.

@DrChrisParry @StrontiumDog01 Well, the UN resolutions helped, but in all cases UK had right to self defence under Article 51, UN Charter. It's pretty simple. Argentina attacked UK. UK can attack any enemy military asset. UK set up some self-exclusions, but it could have just attacked anything anywhere.
