@CatherineFlick Makes sense. So you’re sayin a more eco friendly NFT may be possible (though potentially raises other issues like security), but the scammy reputation associated with NFTs is a harder “cloud” to shed?

@CatherineFlick Curious, does it work out any better in the end if you can keep the NFT managed and minted in a side chain and do the payment in $? It’d be nice to orchestrate hundreds of NFTs on side chains and only touch Ethereum occasionally, resulting in very little carbon per NFT. Possible?

We were talking to them about bulk purchase for schools, but APS admins didn't want teachers to have these.

Indoor air quality monitors in the under $100 range? Essential appliances for modern urban life or a complete waste of money? Any particular brands & models if the answer is the former?

Just a reminder that not all news is necessarily bad news. A highly contagious and extremely mild variant is exactly what you hope for. Need to wait for the data to come in.

@mom2jnp @EdTubb @Sue_Innovates @DavidElfstrom @AirQ007 That is exactly what I thought but admin is saying Ministry of Labour says that a classroom with 26+ unvaccinated children can be as high as 5000! Science is my weak area but why are we still denying that schools need to have clean air?

As of Mon., there are 161 concurrent COVID-19 outbreaks in Ontario schools; 144 in elementary schools. There's been a significant reversal in this trend since it hit a low of 68 concurrent outbreaks on Oct. 25. Other settings also rising, but schools are far and away the most.

@jasmith_yorku @seeedstudio @adafruit Interesting, thanks for sharing. Most of our tests with other sensors were less than 2000ppm. Higher than 2,000 you definitely need to act to fix air quality, regardless of sensor.

Comparing the @AirQ007 CO2 unit to a bare SCD30 sensor breakout board from @seeedstudio and the @adafruit SCD30 library for Arduino. Verdict: the SCD30 breakout board values are roughly right, but it needs some serious calibration considerations beyond just using the library.

@sueblackberry Someone who made a decision like this (to disallow N95s) should be forced to go on public record. Shameful.

This is why I am on leave from the long term care home I work at. Upper management would not let me work using an n95. Lucky for me I don’t need the income but tragic for those that can’t afford to quit working.

Did not realize the wide, uh, disparity in CO2 monitors. How can temp and humidity be bad too?

@SamirKayande Also temp and humidity is hard (from a hardware perspective) especially at low cost. Temp because the unit generates its own heat (venting is key), and second because low cost humidity sensors are generally +/- A LOT :)
