Underpinning supraspinal CNS fatigue is the sensation of innervation theory, or the fact that central motor command creates a corollary discharge in the sensory part of the brain. This study shows how CNS fatigue affects both of these signals simultaneously.

Discussion The Weight Room 1. The weights don't lift themselves. 2. Just being in the weight room doesn't get you strong(er). 3. Walking in without a plan is useless. 4. Your workout partner(s) matter. Working out with clowns is useless. 5. The equipment isn't to rest and bullshit with your friends. Do your set (reps) and let someone else use the equipment. 6. If you use it, wipe it down. Nobody wants to be exposed to your sweat. 7. If you use free weights, put them back. 8. Leave your cell phone in the car. The gym isn't the place to be texting or talking. If you take a picture of someone without their permission, someone should punch you square in the mouth. 9. Nobody wants to hear your individual music. 10. You're only going to get out of it, what you put into it.

When a bout of upper body exercise is done immediately before a bout of lower body exercise, maximum tolerable perception of effort is reached more quickly, causing task failure to occur sooner. This is supraspinal CNS fatigue in action.

Why is having a quality S&C coach important? They literally teach skills that can/will be used for the entire lifetime of the individual. And those skills can actually expand the lifetime through health. Your administration may have never given thought to this. Talk to them.

Face Pulls are excellent to fix bad postures. The motion strengthens many muscles connected to your shoulder blades at once. Do them at the start or end of your workout to light your upper back on fire This video shows four variations: - 3 to 4 sets of 10-20 reps. - Keep your elbows high when you pull. - Spread the elastic/rope/weights apart as you get close to your face. I can’t understand why programs wouldn’t split jerk as part of their program. Easy to teach. RFD work is ⬆️ the roof. Get bilateral and unilateral work. The proprioceptive requirement is super high. And goodness they’re fun to be good at. @hcaathletic @HebronLionsFB #MoreWorkToDo

What would happen if a High School just had a volunteer with no background act as their athletic trainer? It wouldn’t happen. Why does it happen in High School weight rooms when there are certified strength coaches. @NJSIAA @nj_athletics @HSSportsNJ @NJHerald

It's amazing to me that schools have weight rooms without certified strength coaches. If the school had a pool they wouldn't just ask who could swim and have them watch the pool. NJ needs to address this @NJSIAA @News12NJ @NJHerald @HSSportsNJ

I spent the last 8 years coaching in college and pros I never once worked with a team that did not have a minimum 2x/week mandatory training in-season Arguably the most important time of the year to train for you high schoolers is in-season (if done appropriately)

We work w/ hundreds of youth baseball players Many of these players and their parents tell us they want to play in college I look all over and can’t find one top college program who doesn’t train intensely in-season Yet, most of these young players don’t do the same Weird 🤨
