@PicturesFoIder There's 0 chance that a dude working at Mattress Firm wrote this and knows anything about AI. Everything he says is a tired fucking troupe that has been debunked over and over. These same slaves will be up at this same podium complaining about no jobs in 6 months. Irony.

@PicturesFoIder If you want a growing economy, then you have to grow. It’s a win win situation to have investments in your community as long as you keep big brother government out. If you want jobs in your community, you need businesses. He makes some assumptions.

Our ceo fired the entire 12 person QA team last month and replaced them with an ai automated testing pipeline to save $1.2M today, we lost $6M in orders because a bot hallucinated a discount code that made everything in the store 0. The best part? he asked the lead dev to hop on a call with the fired QA lead to see if he’d consult for free to fix it. corporate greed is a mental illness

@Acyn What does ‘effectively’ mean here when used as an adjective? Does it mean that he factored in the member rebate some people get? Costco near me isn’t anywhere near $3.80 for the cheap stuff.

Fetterman: They are making it like there's kind of an energy crisis and that is just not true. I just tested that this morning. I gassed up my Jeep at Costco—I effectively paid $3.80 for a gallon. Two years ago, it was $3.65.

@harlot_scara @elia_mafhh A perfectly logical argument when employers and employees have similar bargaining capacity. Sadly that is not the environment we are in. SO much of required life is tied to having a job (health care, remote possibility of ever retiring, food).

A 29-year-old warehouse employee burned down a Kimberly-Clark warehouse and wiped out $500M in goods, declaring, 'All you had to do was pay us enough to live.' So I checked the facts on his wages. The numbers don't look good for the company.

@Greyhoundcat1 @Simon_Ingari This kind of thinking is the exact career blackmail that has been used over and over to take advantage of workers. As a gen-x er I believed in it for years. Not anymore. The kids now have it right.

Boss: Before you leave today, I need you to run the project report. Gen Z: I can get that first thing tomorrow. It’s already 5:10 p.m. Boss: I need it before the end of today. Gen Z: If running your report early was so urgent, why was I not made aware of this earlier? The report will take about two hours to run and then another 30 minutes for me to organize the data before it’s ready to send off. Boss: Great, get that over to me by 9 p.m. at the latest. Gen Z:↓↓↓

@MatthewNichol5 It isn’t and they don’t claim to be. The real point is that 200k fans signed up for a chance to get one of 80k tickets for a single regular season game. For $50 tickets. MLB is big mad, big jealous, and stirring hatred as a purely business move.

@Joeinblack Interesting take. But if we follow that logic… your church doesn’t pay property tax for most of its land. Why should governmental services that are paid from taxes like fire, police, streets, etc be provided to those properties?

Please note that it is not optional for Catholic families to fund public schools, the money is taken and then given to the public schools As a Catholic school administrator and Priest, it’s pretty rare to find people within the public school system who understand this. They love the money they take from Catholic School families but that’s as far as the love goes. I’ve actually had innumerable people tell me Catholic school kids shouldn’t be able to ride the public school buses because they don’t pay for the schools. Of course they pay for it.

Chicago Public Schools just pulled federally mandated special education services from 800+ students with disabilities at Catholic schools — mid-year, with no warning. This is not just wrong. It may be illegal. Let me explain. 👇

@JeanneIves CPS put out a statement. Have you seen that? It appears that the archdiocese had an annual budget of IDEA funds due them for the 800 students, and blew through it early. Then asked CPS for more. CPS said No More Allowance this year.

Lots of questions regarding CPS abruptly cutting off federally-funded services to Catholic school students with disabilities. CPS has already received the funds from the federal government for the whole year. 1. Were the funds mismanaged and CPS doesn't have the money? 2. Are other private school students still getting services? 3. Did Cardinal Cupich call Pritzker about this yet? 4. Have all the Dem legislators that graduated from Catholic school said anything yet? Elgie Sims, LaShawn Ford, Porfirio, and more. 5. Does the Arch or parents need to sue to get services now? Another corrupt action by CPS management.
Archdiocese Chicago@archchicago

@DanVosnos That isn’t what happened, and I think you know it. The Archdiocese blew through their annual budgeted allocation of IDEA funds for the year early, and expected CPS to pull IDEA funds from other schools to make up for the shortfall.

@YardKat777 @PhantomPlatypus @CollinRugg You may want to review Kimberly-Clark’s property insurance. Interruption to business is absolutely covered by even the most basic of policies. The clients, whose goods are ash, will suffer minor inconveniences while those who actually need the products will suffer most.

NEW: The man who is accused of setting a 1.2M square foot warehouse on fire in California was apparently inspired by Luigi Mangione. 29-year-old Chamel Abdulkarim is now facing federal arson charges on top of state charges. According to U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli, Abdulkarim sent a text message to a co-worker just an hour after the fire. "All you had to do was pay us enough to live. Pay us more of the value WE bring. Not corporate. Didn’t see the shareholders picking up a shift," he allegedly said. Essayli says Abdulkarim allegedly "compared himself to Luigi Mangione" on a phone call.

NEW: Disgruntled employee starts massive fire at a 1.2 million square foot warehouse in Ontario, California. 29-year-old Chamel Abdulkarim was arrested on arson charges for setting a Kimberly-Clark warehouse on fire. Abdulkarim apparently filmed himself on Instagram setting toilet paper packages in the warehouse on fire. "You may not pay us enough to f*cking live, but these b*tches dirt cheap... There goes your inventory," Abdulkarim apparently said. "All you had to do is pay us enough to live. All you had to do was pay us enough to f*cking live." The warehouse is the size of 11 city blocks. In total, 175 firefighters and 20 engines were on the scene trying to put the fire out. No one was injured.

@KozarBirol @ProudSocialist @YourAnonNews An unsophisticated and very wrong belief. Not only will ‘the insurance company’ not cover 100% of the physical loss (even assuming that they are not partly self insured), they cannot cover a fraction of the economic impact loss.

When you shut down bars and restaurants forever people have less places to gather. And , when you give free housing to 70,000 illegals it causes housing shortages and rent increases. It’s booming for the high income people who can afford it but makes life so much worse for those who can’t.

I can't figure out why the switch flipped but Chicago is in boom times right now. Home values are skyrocketing (in the nice neighborhoods) and even on weeknights bars and restaurants are humming. I've lived here since 2009 and I don't think the city's been raring quite like this until now. This comes after taking longer to recover from Covid than basically everywhere else.

For those still behind: Melania's Epstein presser yesterday ("I was not a participant") was almost certainly driven by Amanda Ungaro, an Epstein victim who had a child with Paolo Zampolli, who brought Melania to the US. Zampolli just got Ungaro deported; she's vowing revenge. 1/
