@nucknyan Yeah I don't play WoW anymore and that's a lot of the reason why. I have no interest in raiding, but the game now is set up to get you to max level ASAP (Like 10 hours) and into the Dungeon -> Raid progression immediately.
There's expansions worth of content just sitting dead

It’s 2026, we are gonna be 6 expansions deep into FFXIV soon. Can we stop with the weird gatekeepy behavior if someone doesn’t want to play through 250 hours of story to be able to play some of the best MMO raid encounters ever made? Heaven forbid someone asks you a small lore question if they start getting interested in the story after starting the game 10 years late. Are we really gonna keep driving people away with this weird NIMBY ritual? Just use your social skills (lol) and answer the small question, suggest they start a story alt on their downtime, or direct them to a synopsis video on YouTube. Crying about “story skippers” this deep into a game’s development cycle is peak cringe. If they set up a skip to Dawntrail for new characters to jump into the new story arc I and many others feel like it would be beneficial for the game’s long term health. While the Hydaelyn/Zodiark arc is great storytelling it’s also not a sacred cow for people to clutch pearls over. At the end of the day, it’s a game to be played. We’re all better than this and should start acting like it.

@MisterJRPG Jesus that's a lot of games. I think the highest I've played personally is Illusion of Gaia (Or time in the right thinking world), seems like I've got some interesting stuff to try out still

So, I did a thing. After completing all the English SNES RPGs (171 so far), wanted to do a mega tierlist. For games, AND the soundtracks. And so I did, here are the real best SNES RPGs and OSTs! (In my opinion)

@Shamrokh00 @realradec Platinum was definitely way better in some generations, like you can't tell me a nice subtle grey is worse than neon green lol. It was almost there for PS2 too, the weird cutout box on the front of the cover ruins them though

@TheCountAnt @realradec The US "Greatest Hits" were absolutely ugly, aye. Europe did it a lot nicer with the Platinum range, just changing the black bar on the front and the spine to a silvery-grey instead of black.
I still collect original runs where possible, but I don't hate the Platinums at least

@realradec I’ve hated the Greatest Hits labels since the PS1. I know it’s pretentious but I actually paid extra to get the original case for a few games.
However if the whole PS3 library was red cases, that I would have been on board for.

There's such a different response to this from Japanese fans and everyone else, most people are happy about a dead game being brought back by the community. But I've seen a bunch of Japanese fans angry about this because it goes against the wishes of Square Enix.

@LouiseS1996 @geerlingguy Varies a bit depending on where you are, I suppose? More due to breaking DRM than the copying. But I can't really think how it'd be ethically wrong to do at least, since you own the disc legally, it's just one of those places where the law doesn't really line up with common sense

Looks like it's a custom version of one, with a Bluetooth dongle inside. Probably great if you need its specific features, but an old USB Wii bar still works fine if you just need to waggle at your PC monitor
