@Gabriel64869839 This would be a modern Black Arrow. We might never recover from a blunder of this magnitude. It is a terrible idea. We would be throwing away several entire industries by cancelling GCAP. We would be permanently damaging several more. God no.

UK should pull out of GCAP, painful as it is to say. As gov is not willing to spend what it takes to keep Forces from functionally dying (because that is what they are effectively doing, capability by capability), can't afford to spend another 12 billions just for development.

Dexter Sol Ansell via Instagram: “4 years ago, I found this throne in London and my mum took a photo of me on it. Neither of us knew what it was. Little did we know years later I would be connected to it in a way we could never have imagined. 🥚👑”

@YouGov Royal Navy, followed very closely by the RAF. Then the army is following both a good 20 paces behind.

@ross_baglin We paid them back by not going to Vietnam. Whatever got us to this position today is gone. I also know the US Navy has had its own issues. Mighty as it is, if they need support, I would give it. Highly trained Air Defence Destroyer crews will be needed. Let’s get stuck in.

For those with long memories of 1956, it is mildly amusing that the US is now begging Britain and France for help in unblocking what is, in effect, a shipping canal.

@fauxfilosopher @mezonsartrepo @terminallyOL Fair enough in copying the man rather than the movie based on him, but I do not for a second believe it is a coincidence that Herbert stumbled into a chosen one, from a foreign and greener land, becoming the leader of a desert people. And Spice is just oil, cmon.

@james_rogers And if a Cypriot president is elected with a pledge to renegotiate the terms of the treaty establishing their presence? To have the territory returned to them? Shouldn’t a British government respect (in that case) the clearly expressed wish of a sovereign republic?

MoD to "move away" from the crippling annual budget cycle to 10-year plans. If this is followed through (and funded) properly, it should mark a major improvement in the management of UK defence.
UK Defence Journal@UKDefJournal

The Ministry of Defence set out plans to move away from annual budgeting towards a 10-year Defence Investment Plan and a new procurement model, marking a significant change in how the department plans and delivers military capability. ukdefencejournal.org.uk/defence-shifts…

This is, I believe, the seventh time that King Charles has met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. I struggle to think of a world leader he has met as many times while King. Canada’s Mark Carney will be up there, but, interesting nevertheless…

also enjoy the idea of a "divine punishment" for upsurping a woman which could show a unique connection between female targaryens and the ability to hatch eggs.

always find it interesting to think why dragon eggs stopped hatching. my fav theory is that, during the sacking of the dragonpit, dragonkeepers scrolls were burnt and so ancient valyrian knowledge of how to prevent eggs turning into stone was lost.
